"Before the safety car returns to the pits all lapped cars will be allowed to unlap themselves and then join the back of the pack, ensuring a clean re-start without slower cars impeding those racing for the leading positions."

now the drivers are not allowed to move back on to the racing line after defending a position?

I guess DRS didn't cut down the excitement of wheel to wheel racing enough this year. Why is the FIA hell bent on making F1 more boring? boo!!!!!!!

"Drivers may no longer move back onto the racing line having moved off it to defend a position."

I hope that means for the rest of the race.

Now that would be fun.

Who defines the racing line? It's different for each chassis and driver to a degree. Stupid rule which will be misused to punish unfavored drivers. Impossible to fairly enforce.

Absolutely no brain power used in making up these new airy-fairy rules yet again.
So you move off line to cover a possible pass.... then you can't move back so the other car will then pass you on the racing line and you will not be able to take a decent line through the corner so apart from being passed you are also stuffed and falling into the grip of anyone else near behind you. Why not just place parking bays just before bends so that you have somewhere to pull in and allow another to pass ? just as stupid. All this assumes that they really mean cannot move back onto the racing line until the one behind has passed. Why not a minimum time for each pit stop, to aid overtaking, say 2 minutes, then even the Ferraris would have a chance to catch up.
This Formula One gets more like a nursery every day. Surely there is a brain somewhere in F1 that can at least try to think these inane ideas through and boot them and the proposer out of F1. And we all thought Max was mad.
