I'm clearly not going to change your viewpoint on anything, but if you cannot acknowledge that he has had a great season then you're showing unreasoned bias.
To come so close to having beaten Webber by the end of the season proves this, and Webber's final win of the season was hardly on merit. I believe Vettel and Alonso both out-qualified their respective team mates an equal number of times, and I personally do not believe Vettel could have done a better job given that Ferrari.
Also, why should Massa have been forced to relinquish a position to Hamilton? He was racing him, and then Hamilton made a mistake when trying to pass him.

Massa was told to crash with Lulu.
How come Vettel not be ur driver if its not possible to do better than Vettel in RBR or any car? Definitely Ferdi & Ham would have done worse than Seb in RBR least in Canaada, Hungary & quite likely Monza and Monaco too. Even in Spain.

12 wins to 0/ 11 wins to 1 is better than 1 win to 0 i guess.
Plus looking at points difference betn teammates, driving in rain, Monaco test driver's skills.

4th with ferrari is not a good season, average season. BTW 4th in any car is average. Onlt top 3 get prizes. Maybe with ur reasoning Di Resta, Schumi, Rosberg all had good seasons.

The problem is that the only indication of how good the car is that a driver has is the comparison to his team mate. Ferdi was way ahead of Massa (and so was Vettel), but the question is how good Massa still is. I've got the feeling that he hasn't been the same anymore since his freak accident ...

Angelina- your obvious dislike of Alonso clouds your judgement. To say that Massa was ordered to crash into Lulu is pure tripe and that Massa "out qualified him sometimes" so what - we didn't say Alonso was perfect - just that he did a great job in the 3rd fastest car. Now go and troll somewhere else - getting bored with your inane comments!

@ Angelina - This thread is about people choosing "their" driver of the year, not "yours"
Seb had a Mansell year which statistically is good, but doesn't prove real skill against other drivers.
I'm not to keen on Alonso but he is easily the best all rounder in the field, and making the ordinary Fez punch above it's weight, which is why people and me voted for him.
Could Seb do what Alonso did in the Fez, probably not.
Could Alonso do what Seb did in the RB, hell yes.
Don't forget FA became a double WDC well before Seb did with a lot more competition from drivers and teams.
Just because you love Seb don't expect everyone else to.

Well said Jack.

Angelina, Nobody is saying that Seb didn't have a fantastic season, but just because you hate Alonso (in your own words) doesn't mean that he didn't have a great season.
Jose, maybe, just maybe if you listened to some of the people that actually know somthing about the sport, instead of insulting them, you would learn something. Now wouldn't that be nice?

Angelina, Vettel has been statistically by far the best this season, but he has had the best pit crew who have consistently outperformed there closes rivals Mclaren, they have No1 designer who's achievements stretch back over 30 years, but most importantly he has been driving a car that has been .38sec/lap quicker than the rest this season hence he has been on pole most of the season and has been able to drive away from the rest at the race starts.

The RB7/Vettel combination has lost 6 races and has had 1 dnf, its Vettel's not being able to challenge the rest when under pressure from others like Hammi in Hungary and Germany and Button in Canada which has seen the RB7 finish behind the the other cars, and even in the last race with the RB7 having a gearbox problem it was still quick enough to see off the Ferrari and Mclaren. So please Angelica look at the bigger picture regards Vettel's 2011 f1 campaign.

"Could Seb do what Alonso did in the Fez, probably not.

How do u know that? Team principals will disagree with you.

"Don't forget FA became a double WDC well before Seb"
Schumi became 7WDC b4 FA, Senna 3WDC b4 Schumi, ..but Seb is a current 2WDC with a dominating season. Look at the diff to his teammate. Look at the diff. in no. of wins.
Statistically FA is no longer better than Seb equal c'ships, less poles, less % wins, almost equal wins in many more starts.
"did with a lot more competition from drivers and teams."
Seb has 4 other WDC's on the grid, all with more exp & older than him but with less poles & less %tage wins (except schumi) than him. Its a record in F1's history.

@Taipan
I don't see how being 4th when expected 5th is a great achievement. Being 2nd when expected 5th or being 5th when expected 12th or below will be a great achievement.

But, being 1st when expected 1st is a great achievement. Winning is an great achievement.
Dominating even teammate is more than expected.
