F1 » Edwards confirmed as Brundle replacement

After much speculation, Ben Edwards has confirmed that he will be the replacement for Martin Brundle on the BBC's F1 commentary team.

I think this is a great signing. I remember Ben commentating on Eurosports CART series with Jeremy Shaw and he was excellent (so was the series). The obvious and best choice.

I bet Toby Moody AK (Alan Partridge) is sad, as he thinks he's the bees knees in commentating.

caroline. your pro bbc slip is showing!

i can watch on bbc, sky, orf, rtl etc, and of them all, i reckon that sky will take transmission of f1 to a new level. i have heard (but not confirmed it as yet) that sky will be showing the races in 3d. now THAT would be something!
oh, and by the way, when sky are showing the race live, nobody will be watching ben edwards for half of the races!

Huge congratulations to Ben. Thoroughly deserved and long, long overdue recognition of his talent.

You know, despite having Sky, I'm tempted to watch the odd race on the Beeb now. Or at least flick between the two.

If the Beeb would ditch Coulthud for Martin Haven, I'm sold!
