F1 » F1 Driver of the Year vote: 2nd

He might have had few obstacles standing in his way as he clinched a second straight F1 world title in 2011, but Sebastian Vettel clearly lacked a little something as you voted him only number two in your F1 Driver of the Year poll

@ all comments stating it was the Car, I assume then that the same applies to both Hamilton and Button championships. I guess on what you say then all championships are won by the car the only person the champion had to beat was his team mate. Why comment when thay are that stupid.

"surely what makes these polls interesting is that they are unpredictable"

Really, being so wrong makes them interesting???

There are very few absolutes in being able to compare drivers in the championship given the differences in machinery. One of the easiest comparisons is teammates - and clearly Sutil did a better job than Di Resta overall. That is not interesting, that is wrong.

Also, by all accounts Hamilton had a very bad season, Button only beat him by 43 points and didn't win the qualifying battle.
Button finished a distant second in the championship and only just ahead of the Ferrari of Alonso, despite the McLaren falling approx midway between the performance of the Ferrari and the RedBull.
Alonso and Vettel each beat their teammates by a huge margin in qualifying and in the race.
Seb being the best this year is one of the other absolutes.

To me the only real 'definites' of the season were:
-Vettel was outstanding
-Alonso and Button were very good

Conclusion: This polls have been rigged to carry out an agenda! This ain't the only site that has carried out a poll. I fail to understand how the results can be soo skewed or different from the others. There is 1 glaring anomaly. This is stooping too low even for you crash.

At the end of the day this pole is subjective. It is more of a popularity contest rather than who was the best driver. We are all passionate about the sport and we all have our favourites.
What makes me smile are the individual arguments put forward pro and con for each driver. I find myself doing exactly the same when discussing with friends.

Who ever you consider the best driver, Have a Happy Newyear!

p.s JB was my favourite for 2011 and he will be for 2012. Sorry JB fan.

In Harry Enfield style - Calm down - Calm down! :)

It,s only a readers poll.

But Vettel was robbed!

Based on voting for favorite drivers, not skill and points, I,m stunned that the fanboys failed to put msc in no:1, absolutley stunned!

Vettel can console himself with the Motogp poll, where,

Lorenzo polled behind a deceased rider(poor

And brazilian Crashnet polls would have had A. SENNA as a winner from 14 to to 34.
