F1 » F1 Driver of the Year vote: 2nd

He might have had few obstacles standing in his way as he clinched a second straight F1 world title in 2011, but Sebastian Vettel clearly lacked a little something as you voted him only number two in your F1 Driver of the Year poll

The soap opera continues. You got love this..
Man the dudes over at Silverstone are,,real cool
The stage is set, Button or Hamilton or both. Here I sit
dying with laughter.
The funny part is most of the posters don't see this Sham,
fictitious game beaning played at their expense.
Well I do, entertaining it is, complete with commercials on
each side of the page.
If Buttons is #1, Ok.. If the Golden Goose in not in the
top 10 then I must assume he didn't compete in 2010.
One sorrowed situation CRASH!
What a revolting development this is..

Not Surprised..

Road Runner, thanks for clearing up the confusion regards the RB7 and Vettel, but if you dont mind i will stick with my non blinkered VIEW echoed by the great Sir Sterling Moss saying " that Vettel is the fastest driver in F1 but the Adrian Newey design car gives him an unfair advantage".

Its really not rocket science fastest car does not equal best driver.

And i would like to thank crash posters on there ability of voting sensibly and not jumping on the Vettel in a fast car bandwagon.

@Jose

Last time I looked the UK was a democracy (almost) unlike the EU.

It's a vote, if you don't like the result because Hamilton (the golden goose I assume) isn't in the top ten then that's life, I suspect his lack of votes is due to his attitude this year, stupid accidents and off track sound-bites not his actual driving talent which no one disputes.

So you agree that he is the fastest driver, he was almost flawless the whole season, but you wouldn't vote him as the best driver of the season?

This survey clearly represents a special interest group, rather than the opinion of the seasoned F1 fan.
a. Vettel, even if you're not fond of him, I'm included in that group, clearly was the best driver of the year, even though he likely had the best car.
b. both Jensen and Lewis should be in the top ten, but it looks like just one of them, clearly the one with the best online PR management team, will get the top spot, and neither of them should be getting the top spot, though both should be in the top ten.

My top drivers:
1. Vettel
2. Button
3. Alonso
4. Webber
5. Hamilton
6. Rosberg
7. Kovalainin
8.9. Perez/Kobayashi
10. who cares?

if a poll does not specify, technical ability only, different emotions come in.

It becomes very similar to a Miss contest, with us guys voting for anything but girls brains.

We in that case we would use a different h**d to vote.

It very hard to control this tipe of polls.
Apparently,(i was told in Motogp in 2010 V.Rossi won and he had lost the Title to team mate Lorenzo).

But as i stated to somebody who criticised one of the few mistake he made, what more could have done to be N1 DRIVER OF THE YEAR???? OH YES MAYBE WALK ON WATER!!!.

@@@Ron Golden Boy of course i know where you are coming from.
Any
other top 4 driver, IN MY OPINION , would have won the title(the car was that good)given the REDBULL,

But at the the end of the day Vettel has done all what he was asked and will never have UTOPIA with 18 REDBULLS or FERRARIS or McLarens with the true best emerging.

PANDORA S BOX.

IF MOST OF US DISAGREE, WE IS THIS WAST MAJORITY WHO VOTED IN FAVOUR??

@ Taz,
This is nothing but a Sham, I understand, roll player that I is.
One would hope you don't take this pseudo nothing to mean something creditable. Just entrainment nothing more.
The top five at the end of 2010 stands..
Vettle
Buttons
Alonzo
Hamilton
Weber

This is the competitive pecking order in F1 today.
The order means little..
Poles, Votes, or counting Mouse clicks can't change fact.
Bite that Dog if you dare .. It is what it is..

I believe the results of this vote are the reason why we the public are called fans and the professionals are called professionals. Considering the amount of anger in these comments I suggest everyone realise we are really not that important. If someone does think they are a professional please get rid of Bernie. As a loyal fan of motor racing for 25 years pleeeeaaaasssse.
