i wonder if he deserve it cos it just an aero aid on Rb car.. that it happens to go faster and without or with KERS..i must say Rb is fully 100% aero equiped..and AN took full advantage of it..and with KERs it goes faster but i believe the car is already fast over corners..as if you guys notices that RB is running about 100km/h over most corners in every track....abn slowest is 80km/h

Adrian Newey and Nigel Mansell have been around the sport for years. What ever your allegiance you have to congratulate the pair of them. For those who don't know this is not Adrian's first winning design of an F1 car.
I'm impartial on this subject as I'm not particularly a RB fan. This season Adrian fully exploited the F1 regs. (As all designer will do!) We will have to see what he produces for 2012.
Looking forward to the result of the drivers pole. Sure it will be JB and LH. Congratulations.

Well done Adrian all your hard work paid off with the F1 results in the last 2 years, this is the icing on the cake. Good luck for 2012. Good on you too Nigel, about to read your biography, I've heard it's a good read!!

I believe Adrian incorporates in his design more than most, a saying from the great Colin Chapman " Adding power makes you faster on the straights. Subtracting weight makes you faster everywhere. This is so apt for f1 circuits with its straights being out numbered by bends and chicanes. Mark Webber has often complained how tight a fit it is in the Red Bull car as Adrian tries to make his cars as light as possible.

If we take our memories back to Barcelona and Lewis running down Vettel but could not pass, although catching Vettel on the straight with the Mclaren top straight line speed when it came to the bends Vettel pulled away with Hamilton saying at the end of the race saying " i couldn't catch Vettel in the bends because the car had phenomenal down force"

Newey is a genus and this is a well deserved award.

Yes 2009 i agree but it is also about dispersing that weight. A team which uses a kers system which incorporates a supercapacitor or battery will be at a disadvantage to one which just uses a flywheel method as the fly wheel method does not need a battery or a capacitor to store energy its all harvested and implemented in the flywheel housing.
This says to me for those who cant perfect or have a flywheel method will naturally have a heavier car and i would assume that no all cars are running at the minimum weight when starting a race not including fuel.

As i said that I belive Newey leans more towards a lighter car more than the rest not that he is the only one.

Ron, as I said, all cars must comply with a minimum weight.
Nobody can go below that minimum weight using KRS or not and whatever make of KERS for that matter.
As far as I know nobody is using a flywheel KERS.
