Not sure there is much more to say, but these ratings are clearly based on how the various drives performed compared to punter's expectations. JB clearly performed way better than expected, and Lulu way worse than expected. Looks like everyone expected Seb to walk this, and while I don't agree with putting JB ahead, it is understandeable in a weird way, as he did so much better than expected. There is probably also a tad of favouritism from the average Brit going on here with JB flying the flag...

Now there, how can I insult someone else as well?

martin. favouritism from the brits? are you joking? there may be favouritism from fans of some drivers, but please explain how lulu polled so poorly and he is a brit. then compare it to di resta and button. and surprisingly, this unbiased "favouritism" put ferdi well ahead of lulu.

reactions of some regarding this poll:

LIGHTNING MCQUEEN:this is a frickin joke.a epic, awesome, mega driver is left behind and beaten by a less charming team-mate?yeah it's definitely a frickin joke.

NICHOLE CHERZING: awwwww!!!my poor baby, sob sob.he not only broke my heart and massa's ass,but also broke the trust of stewards and fans.we pussycat girls will try and sing a new album to over come his problem, luv u all ,muuuuuavvvva.

SIMON FULLER:we at XIX company are still scratching all our parts why on earth such a charismatic guy is penalized by stewards?see the contribution made by him to sport.he earned nice nick names in Australia and made r&b popular in paddock.and only one to challenge vettel(in his dream, that's another matter).

ANTHONY HAMILTON:oh my god, what a roller coaster year.went from probably worlds greatest driver to a lunatic in weeks.jeez the kid is trying to emulate my crash in to children's park.hope he has turned into right corner and simon fuller supports him b

I know the guy hasn't had the best of seasons, but to be out of the top ten, and the likes of Sutil, Kobayashi and DiResta in the top ten is just laughable!
After Vettel, Lewis won the most races this season.
He has made some amazing passes (yes, some bad ones too) and has been the most entertaining driver - on and off the track.
Then again, it seems people want to see a time trial week in week out.

I hope this result gives our Lulu loving extemists some rays of hope, we know you like to look on the bright side.
If you forget about the top 10, Lulu was absolutely top of the rest!! :)

Massa - 20th, that's a bit harsh!

To be perfectly honest, I think JB and DiResta's position would indicate that Crash is read more by Brits than say Germans.
Lulus low position is probably a reflection of his way below par performance. Obviously his die hard fans still think he is the best thing since sliced bread, but I haven't seen many people claim that he had a great season.

Probably the most useless driver of the year award of 2011. To place the dominant driver under a mediocre 2nd place finisher is just silly. As a fan favorites of the UK poll, it makes some sense, but hardly represents anything of real value. F1 isn't a popularity contest, its racing, so being most beloved for doing better than expected, or whatever, is irrelevant.

Were some of these people screaming about Hamilton actually watching the same season as the rest of us? Jeez the bloke spent more time front of the stewards and off the track than any other driver this season. Wake up smell the coffee and stop shouting how wrong this poll, you are making yourselves look really pathetic.
