Maybe for 2012 we could have a new rule for DRS...
Any time Vettel is leading the race, then everyone else gets to use the "wing" but Vettel doesn't.
But wait a minute. In effect that is the way it was last year. Vettel hardly ever got the extra advantage of using the wing, but still was able to pull away from the competition and still set fastest laps.
So, how about a special rule where DRS is removed from Vettels car and everyone else gets to use the wing at will so someone else will have a chance at the title?
I wouldn't be surprised to see some nonsense like this from the rule makers.

Please, Vettel was the master of off throttle blowing. Nothing more. He was able to create the one second gap and ride into the wind. This year the off throttle blowing is illegal. The DRS was only useful in a handful of races. Outside of that it was just an F1 Nascar gimmick.

rob. in case you hadnt noticed, all the front running cars had off throttle blowing, INCLUDING webber. yet seb was clever enough to push really hard from the start, so as to break the 1 sec margin, hence ensuring that the chasers could not use drs.
i believe that sebs ability to post a very fast lap from the off, was the main reason that he was uncatchable. in other words, he was able to drive better on coldish tyres than the others

It is like having 2 different cars behind you, at different times.
It takes away from the battle within a second.

It is like rocket propulsion, not progressive acceleration, it is not car racing.

It should not be there, in my opinion.

Richard, Vettel's whole advantage this year was using the EBD. I am fully aware that others had the system. Outside of Ferrari who was confused as to thinking it was the front wing. And therefore stole one from Red Bull. Either that or they plain just don't understand whats going on. On a side note it looks as if a number of McLaren personel are headed to Ferrari with Fry. Red must really want to do something this year.

Drs is a great idea, if you think back to the last few seasons where cars could only just sit behind the car in front, because of the dirty air and fear of ruining tyres and racing came down to pit stops and stratergy. Now its like the old days when a car could pick up a slip stream and attack the car in front. Have to agree fat tyres less downforce would do the same, at the cost of the amazing cornering speeds though!! so as above.....DRS a good thing.

DRS is a useful tool which has given us more overtaking ,so whats wrong with that. All we need now is for the FIA to apply lessons learnt (from what has been DRS's first year) to do some tweaking and the 2012 season should be much better. I do not understand why some are against technology.

elijah. the best passes last year , were those when drs was NOT used. who wants a system where a normal pass can be negated at the next straight, using drs, as happened several times this year?
