F1 » Buemi: Red Bull wasn’t my only option

Sebastien Buemi: The best solution [after being dropped by Toro Rosso] was to stay with Red Bull. Now it's up to me to do my best in the simulator to prove to them that I am qualified in case Mark Webber's contract is not renewed for 2013.

Their are 3 vying for Marks seat.

He is deluded if being the test pilot to
RBR which will give him no seat time at all
places him in the prime position.

Vettel and Webber prefer to do their own
practice program without intervention and Markos
won't change that.

It will be a repeat of 2010 in 2012 between Mark and Seb. No more nice guys for the cameras

commodore. "it will be a repeat of 2010 in 2012". i thought that you would have had more faith in your boy, than that! (smile)

victor. i was one of those who stood up for buemi, but his comments about other contacts is just the normal utterances of any driver. he did not know until very late, that he was being ousted from str, so i doubt that he was even looking elsewhere. but contacting other teams is done by all, even lulu! and others who have no seat for next year, have all said that "they have been in contact with others". it means nothing, whereas if other teams had been in contact with him, then there might have been some credence in his comment.

Sebastien Buemi is a fool if he thinks he could replace Mark Webber, and an even bigger fool publicising his thoughts before what will be a long boring season for him. The contest for Mark Webbers seat when he decides to retire is already underway in the junior team. Buemi cant see he has been shown the door more gently than most ex Red Bull drivers

Sebs response to all the rude comments in "Buemi confirmed in Red Bull role"

didn't you mean "Buemi confirmed in Red Bull role" ???

@ Richard

"commodore. "it will be a repeat of 2010 in 2012". i thought that you would have had more faith in your boy, than that! (smile)".

Why is that Richard. Mark is presently downhere enjoying the sun and surf but has made it quite clear he has no wish to see a repeat of his performance 2011 and that includes having a formidable relationship with his team mate.

He likes the tyres for 2012 and considers he can take it to Seb. In essence no future in competing if you have a confidence barrier and Mark is motivated.

Sebs very good at what he does however the fresh Tech Regs will even out the platform.

Time will tell

There will be two seats vacant at RBR before years end. Vettel will sign up with Ferrari to replace Massa. As much as I'd like to see Daniel R drive for RBR he won't get there. Don't be surprized if Kimi R drives for RBR next year.

commodore. i was just having a good natured dig at your expense! dont forget, seb BEAT mark in 2010, and would have done so earlier had he not had all the technical issues early on! (another smile)

victor. seb might eventually drive for ferrari, but certainly not next year. after paying so much for ferdi, ferrari wont want someone who could challenge and beat him. anyway, seb is happy where he is and is already contracted.

Trying to get a good natured bite Richard.

Seb won the title at Abu Dhabi (The Last Event)

2010 was a mixed year for both he and Mark in many

Victor your theory is way wrong. Just saying.

P.S. Richard get the heater fixed so you and Mrs Richard can be comfortable otherwise you may end up in Thailand without a say in the matter. Jason Richards Memorial Service is on Monday at Sandown with our 1st test Feb 3
