Question: how come Grosjean didn't get to drive the car around as well, since he has also been out of F1 since 2009 (except for the couple of tests for Pirelli at the end of 2010)?

Surely they could could have given him a chance as well, given he hasn't driven an F1 car for a full season, while Raikkonen has done 9.

good point. put dont forget that grosjean has been racing in other formulae, whereas kimi has not been in a racing car at all, whilst away. it would be nice to know what his times were, for comparison with other tests.

I doubt Grosjean will be getting the S**t end of the stick too much, being Boullier's golden child ! However, of course he will have to play number two driver to Kimi for a while and rightly so.

Richard, what would you compare it to though? It's a 2010 car running on Pirellis, I doubt anyone else has done that on that track before. And that makes any comparison pretty pointless really, since that chassis was built to race on Bridgestones.

I guess you could work some kind of comparison out by taking the times the 2010 cars had on Pirellis in Abu Dhabi compared to what they did on Bridgestones on the two respective tracks, but even then I doubt it would mean much. You'll just have to wait and see! :P

sodesu. valencia (the proper circuit) has been used for testing by a number of teams, and wasnt it used in the last few years, for winter testing? it should be possible to get a time for a representative f1 car lap.

Kimi's car was running on what Pirelli describe as their 'demonstator' tyres, that have a much longer lifespan than any of their competetive tyres which would make any meaningfull comparisons that much more difficult, still it would be nice to know wouldn't it.

I hope he gets up to speed quickly and that he has a half decent car under him, he is one driver that I really liked when he was in F1 last time, crickey I even enjoyed his wins with Ferrari and that is some admission from me!

Hope he doesn't let the media circus get under his skin like last time!
