So you think that the factor that makes @@ Hamilton popular is the fact that he he is black.

What about Jordan , Woods, Pele,Bolt,and so many coloured sport people present and past?
Did they make it because they were good or black ?.

I thought blacks were a world minority, and sport people are a commercial investment , so if they were not popular with the wider community and Nike sold only shoes to Blacks that would be a problem.

I think they were a success basically because they excelled a what they did or do.

Hamilton , is not at the level of the people i mentioned and i can not read a crystal ball about the rest of his career, but he certainly became famous for his driving, and not his complexion.

If anything, because of his extraction, the tall poppy
syndrome is applied more prominently.

@Enrico

Good comment except the "tall poppy syndrome" which
emanates moreso from the outside activities of Lewis
which does not calibrate with his paid profession.

There you go Ron some more ammunition. "Fire Up". 17 pages and where still going.

Enrico, my Italian/Australian friend well put, as you now can see Ive had to register as fake ron has been murdering me, i think he is trying to do an Alonso and sabotage me by posting some amusing stuff but some of the others like richard and 2009 seemed to be getting a bit annoyed.

Google im as objective about Hammi as Commodore is about Webber lol.

Come on Google when Hammi went on that man hunt in Monaco i was the first to criticize him because he took out Mclaren's **** up on Massa and Malandano i think i described his drive as thuggery. And when he got jumped by Schumi and Webber in quali while messing about with the controls on his steering wheels i was the first to call my hero unprofessional so i do criticize the young prince when he is in the wrong.

If Jordan had hit or rammed an opponent off court, or Woods hit another player with his club, or Pele kicked some other player in the nuts or Bolt tripped another runner, and they did that repeatedly they would have been sanctioned just like lulu. Also, to my knowledge, none of those great athletes ever thought of himself as bigger than his sport and never blamed anybody but themselves for poor performance. That is the essence of their popularity I guess.
The popularity lulu enjoys has very little to do with the one those you mentioned and so far is unworthy to have his name mentioned in that list. Unless he takes a 180 degree turn quickly in his behaviour and attitude, he'll never make that list... Ever!

Mo :)
