Michael Schumacher rolled back the years to place his 2011-spec Mercedes at the top of the timesheets at Jerez, but remains cautious on his team's prospects for the coming season.

victor. every website say that he is. but on close inspection of overhead shots, it does actually appear that it may be the car that was tested with higher exhausts, last year. and when the car was wheeled into the garage, a cover was placed over the rear. however, unobstructed views show no radical change at the year, so it may be a bitsa car.
but it is strange that schumi is playing down his chances this year, he is usually far more bullish. ONE reporter is claiming that merc have a radical new front wing, but then this was claimed as well, in 2010!

Michael is still seeing the Mercedes development as work in progress, so we have to see what this car is made off when unveiled. Cautiously optimistic, is what I'm getting from the Shuey master .

Calvin was right to say day two testing was all about tyres.

victor. as an addendum to my earlier post, it appears that the photo i saw of the periscope exhausts was a misplaced photo from last year. looking at the photos again, including rosberg today, confirms that they are using the fully blown diffuser of last years car. you can see the exhaust outlets on the floor.

go 4 it shumi. think time is up for you old guys in f1. just praying uv got the right package this season. love to see you battle with hammy, button, vettel and alonso. right car and you will blow rosberg away. Mr Brawn please get it right.
