F1 » HRT admits defeat on test two target


HRT has revealed that its 2012 car has failed elements of the mandatory FIA crash test, delaying its appearance until the final pre-season test.

as i've stated in a previous comment on a different article, last year they had ppl and a were to factory now they have a lot less, i quite ready to bet that this year is gonna be worse then the last

Didn't the US F1 nose cone pass the crash test maybe they could graft it onto the front of their car. That nose was designed by the latest CFD technology so it was bound to be slippery

What worries me is that in the past inexperienced teams would usually over engineer everything resulting in overweight cars that past the tests without issue. HRT seem to be pushing the margins too far, something they dont have the experience to get away with.

I guess one way of looking at it is that at least they are trying to be serious, and not just playing it safe with an overweight dinosaur?
