Peter Sauber is hoping for a constant rise in performance through the 2012 F1 season, if only to match his eponymous team's rivals.

They may not be the richest team around but to me it seems like Sauber have always been a well-managed, responsibly run privateer team. And besides, a big budget does not equal success, as proven on opposite sides of the spectrum by Benetton/Renault and Toyota/Jaguar. I think Sauber have shown that they are a real, passionate racing team that are in F1 for the long run, especially with Peter Sauber buying the team back from BMW.

They had a difficult period there, after BMW ditched them with an undeveloped dog of a car and took lots of staff and sponsors with them. Since then they seem to have gained a lot of stability back and have made steady progress. I like this team and I would love to see them in the mix this year.
