Suprise, suprise, the Gascoyne bashers are out. They are probably too young to remember what he did with Jordan - designing their most successful car (3rd in championship '99). Those critsing his Toyota efforts - the first one he designed in full ('05) was 4th in the championship. Still, I suppose most arm-chair Gascoyne bashers could design a championship winning car in their first season. Providing their mum's let them get to the crayon draw.

some of us know what a pigs ear he has made of some the projects he has overseen, considering he has always been one of the sports highest earners he is most definitely pounds against points scored the sports biggest failure. It had to be on the cards for Fernandes to get rid of him, after two full seasons spending a huge budget, with two experienced drivers and not a single point, topping it all with the slowest car at the first test. Good riddance to him, and good luck to the team without him.

Promotion should read Demotion

People like to Bash Gascoyne for his supposed blunders at Toyota. But they probably don't know that it was Toyota, through marketing and corporate decisions, who shafted Gascoyne's carefully laid plans. By insisting that they use Bridgestone tires at the last minute, when everything about the car was designed around Michelins. Of course Mike was furious about this. And when the car didn't perform Toyota lay all the blame on him and used him as the scapegoat.

Pleased to see Gascoyne is leaving the running of the Team to Mark Smith after two years of time wasting. I hope the team now look at the drivers to see how that area can be improved.

@sleepycat where do you get your stories from .............rubbish
