"I am very sad that, after so many years, there will not be an Italian driver in the F1 world championship field," Domenicali wrote

What about Luca Fillipi.

Luca has enough talent to have moved on to F1 and should have been helped more by the Italians, Andy Roche & David Sears @ Super Nova kept Luca racing in GP2 he should have been helped more by people like Domenicali its to late now to lament the loss of Italian drivers in F1, Luca is every bit as talented as Massa but never got the chance, shame on Ferrari

What he is saying is that he is sad his country would not purchase his F1 seat. Trulli should become friends with Chavez or Putin. And quit blaming the Italians for his lack of talent. When an Italian is good enough for an F1 seat, there will be one back in F1.

You want an Italian driver, really simple just follow the rules.
Buy a pick-um-up truck and load it with gold $$$$ and park
it along side the pit wall before every race. Your Italian driver will be employed come Monaco..Cash is the cue, ask Domeniali.
he knows how to play the game. Forget about the rules..

I don't see much shame in that.

This country already subsidizes too many professions (from notaries to chemists to the... Freaking for ever tax-breaked church), we don't need now to subsides the rise of mediocre or middle of the pack riders.

If a truly amazing talent will come along, he won't need much help and he will certainly make it to the top.

Until then, no shame at all.
And anyway, nobody's gonna notice the difference if Trullo isn't there anymore :)
