Interesting to see that the Lotus was so slow, especially after their speed in Jerez. Maybe when Boullier said that the car would be 'quite different' for this test, what he meant to say was that it would be 'legal'?

But seriously does anyone have any idea as to what happened here?

Ouch. But yeah, that's testing. And the reason they were so slow is of course that Grosjean only did a handful of shakedown laps on a green circuit. This WILL most certainly hurt them though. Hope they can make the most of the rest of the test sessions, cos I'd love to see Kimi up there fighting for podiums and wins.

Last year, fires. Now the chassis falls apart. This Mickey Mouse outfit continues the Lotus tradition of build 'em fragile - except that Chapman wanted them to reach the finish line before they disintegrated!

They were sending out chassis 1 but they used the data from this morning short run to test the chassis 1 at the factory with this morning's g-forces & strsses & other things etc and found the same prob happened on that chassis therefor all chassis now broken.....Game ova for the wk.!

It doesn't sound good that Chassis 01 might have a similar problem. I guess Lotus hope it is just a manufacturing process that is the cause, if it were a structural integrity issue then it is time to get a new chassis homologated.
