whats up with caterham? I know its only testing but they seem really really slow.

also did all the teams have a blown diffuser last year? how can Kobayashi and others say he feels the car is better than last years when they must be missing a lot of the downforce they had in 2011?

soaum. Sauber stopped developing their blown diffuser mid-season and as a result their performances sucked in the 2nd half of the season. My bet is they were focusing on this years car and it seems to paying off.

Barcelona 2011: KK: 1:23.702 SP: 1:23.367
Testing 2012: KK: 1:22.302 SP: 1:22.648

Quite a good step forward and I'm sure they're not done improving the car. I fully expect 1:21's and lower by the time they race @ Barcelona for real.

BTW, forgot to mention they changed their suspension to help with the tyre warm up issues they were having in Qualifying last year, so that has probably given them a good chunk of time in itself.

This is just pointless. They give us times but never the tires their on, you need to check other posts to figure that out and only if you're lucky you'll find out. Please can i get some help and idea which laps were done on hard, medium, soft, or super soft. The laps mean nothing without know who used what compound compared to others.

soaum. a car can "feel" better than a previous years model, regardless of what the new configuration is. what matters "is it faster".
i think that most of the top drivers have already made similar comments. webber made the same comment, possibly helped by the new pirellis. he could not attune to last years tyres.
