Well considering Kimi Raikkonen was up on the sharp end of the testing recently I think you ,Mr Davidson, are wrong.
Drivers don't lose their skills in a couple of season and there's plenty of proof out there.
In Kimi Raikkonen's case it's just a question of how good the car is compared to the others.

Testing times are pretty much meaningless at this stage of the season. Just take a look at the list of drivers who have topped the timesheets so far. I really don't think we can expect the likes of Williams and Sauber to be fighting it out for the championship this season.

On saying that, Kimi can outdrive the best when he's properly motivated. The cars change so much from season to season, so he will struggle a bit at the start, but expect him to getting the most out of the car 5 or 6 races into the season. Let's just hope the car has got enough in it to match it with the front running teams.

With all respect to Davidson, him and Kimi are worlds apart.Kimi is also alot younger than MS as well, four or five races in and he will be fine, no problem.

Of course Mr Davidson have a point. There is reason to believe that Kimi will have to struggle in the first races. And if the car doesnt give him what he wants, it could be a sour ride. For the best of F1, let us hope Lotus will come up with something good.

Isn't it funny how these comments always come from "has beens" or "also rans" who are just trying to keep their own names known !

Davidson has a cheek to compare his own experience when it was at no time comparable to what Kimi achieved previously, particularly in 2nd rate cars.

Any serious F1 fan knows its a combination of car and driver ~ the perfect partnership, that makes the podium.

Schu had that for years at Ferrari and even he has said that did not come from day 1.

Kimi Raikkonen has the skill and the desire for speed, whether this will mesh with what Lotus can manufacture remains to be seen on the Track.

One thing is for sure, like in his Ferrari days he will be getting as much out of the car as he can, no doubt surprising the Lotus engineers as much as he did the Ferrari ones.

Anthony Davidson, Martin Brundle, Damon Hill, Niki Lauda, Jackie Stewart and any other retired F1 driver. They've all been spouting off about who will or won't perform well in 2012. They only get space on F1 web sites as there is so little real news to report. The fact is no-one knows until 3 weeks time in Oz. Even after the opening race it will only be an indication of the season. Remember Petrov took the Renault to a podium and look what happened after that.

He will find it hard, but I'm sure he will be able to pass some of the more dangerous drivers on the grid from time to time and show competitiveness? Most of all he WILL show sportsmanship javascript:insertTextCursor('comment',%20':-o')
