F1 » Hill: Button always a dark horse

Damon Hill: At the end of last year I thought Jenson was super strong and you started to put money on him each time. [Whereas with] Lewis you always feel could go either way...

I would like to point out regardless of everyones feelings about JB, he is the only driver that I know of who forces Vettel into making errors. He did it several times in 2009 and we can't forget Canada.

Alonso and Hamilton don't seem to bother Vettel for some reason.

I don't quite understand how winning a world title and being runner up in a world title makes Button a "Dark Horse"!? Surely that term is used where the unexpected win? Or is my command of the English language that bad? ...... Go Jenson!!!!

The difference in points between SV and MW last year was more than 100. Same between FA and FM. However, between JB and LH, it was less than 100. JB had 3 wins, LH had 3 wins. LH had one pole, JB had zero. Even though JB beat LH, it was not as convincing as the other teammates and referring to him as underdog is simply a way to put unnecessary pressure on LH. And to those who say that LH was in the media with personal issues should remember that LH does not work for any media company, he does not decide what gets written, he does not decide what will be headline news so to attack him because someone wrote about his girlfriend is simply unfair. Besides, who are we to decide who LH should and shouldn't love. We are simply fans who have no right to drivers personal lives. We don't pay them, we don't feed them we simply watch the race and enjoy. So my prayer is people should leave the drivers alone to make their own mistakes and learn from them. They are humans too. I also pray that no dri

I really don't know how many times I have to say it, but here it is AGAIN for all the Hamilton fanboy sheep.

You keep pratting on about how Button has no raw speed like Hamilton - Really?

HAVE A LOOK AT THE FASTEST LAPS FROM LAST SEASON. Ham and But each had 3 fastest laps, but Button HAD MORE faster laps than Hamilton for the season.

For heavens sake, give the old 'Button hasn't got the raw pace like Hamilton' dribble a rest will you!

You want facts, there's some facts - CHOKE ON IT!

Why the constant Hamilton is better and has more speed than Button. Thats no good if he doesnt get results due to crashing and bad decisions is it ? He might as well not race at all for the success he is bringing to Maclaren. Jenson beat him fair and square and with ease. Theres no argument until (Or if) Hamilton gets his act together. His first 2 seasons (Best car) were good but hes done nothing since then. Overrated.

Well I could say right now unless if McLaren has a huge advantage over the rest of the grid like he was with the Brawn GP 2009 Button won't win the championship! He is not fast enough he waits for things to happen before he makes a move! He is happy to follow Vettel round last season! Without the DRS Button as they call him in Germany Jenson would be a mid table driver! Now tyre management helps him as well it actually stops drivers racing fear of not burning their tyres am sorry miss those days when a driver chase's down the race leader but now its tyre management thanks to the short midget

@jenny

How exacty do you figure that Button was happy to follow Vettel around?? He chased Vettel down harder and better than anyone else on the grid.

And regarding the passing - better get your facts right love. Button was by far one of the best overtakers of the season last year - a lot of it WITHOUT using DRS. Take the race in Spa as a perfect case in point. Some of the most aggressive, stylish and beautiful overtaking you'll ever see.

And then we can talk about Canada if you like - closing your boy Vettel down at over 2 seconds a lap. I suppose that was because of DRS too was it?
