F1 » Hill: Button always a dark horse

Damon Hill: At the end of last year I thought Jenson was super strong and you started to put money on him each time. [Whereas with] Lewis you always feel could go either way...

@bannyboy and Pole Position

It always amazes me that Hami fanboys like you always prat on about how great he is. Usually the same people that dribble on about how great Senna was.

But what's interesting is one thing that people always say about Senna and why he was so 'amazing' and something that sums up his 'awesome' driving is his performance at Donnington in '93. He was a master in the wet and adverse conditions - one of the big reasons everyone though he was so amazing.

Yet, these very same people say that when Button wins in the wet, it's a bad thing.

Unreal...

@Bobkp look the whole world knows that Vettel is poor in the rain but Button passes half of the track in Canada with the DRS without DRS he would not pass Schumacher let alone Webber! And don't ever put aggressive and Button in the same sentence like I said Button is happy to follow Vettel around

@richard

Right, so the only reason he won was because of the safety car eh. Yeah right pal. I guess the safety car also didn't let Vettel come in several times for new tyres without losing any places.

GREATEST WIN IN F1 HISTORY PAL - END OF!

And anyway, if that's your logic, I guess you'll agree 100% that the only reason Hamilton won his WDC in 2008 was because Glock was on the wrong tyres on the last lap?

@jenny

Like I said, did you actually watch the race in Spa last year?

Jenson Button = One of the best overtakers in F1 - with or without DRS.

Measured, calculated, timed beautifully, AGGRESSIVE, and executed flawlessly.

I didnt realise that Button was the only driver with DRS and special tyres. I was under the impression that all the drivers had the same choice of tyres and DRS.
As for following Vettel - I think you'll find that applies to the other 22 drivers as well but only one managed to do it so consistently that he achieved second place in the final reckoning.

The championship will more likely be down to which team can sort their car out quicker rather than any specific driver. If McLaren start off with a good car then Button (and Hamilton) are in with a shout.

Mr Hill should go away and make some more Father Ted episodes.

bobkp. spot on! lulu would not have been wdc if glock was on the right tyre and in the same position. once seb passed him, lulu had basically lost his chance.

and as for canada, of course the safety car played massively into buttons hands. but you take your luck when it is handed to you. i believe that the safety car caused vettel to lose 25-30 secs, and button to gain nearly 2 minutes.
