F1 » Hill: Button always a dark horse

Damon Hill: At the end of last year I thought Jenson was super strong and you started to put money on him each time. [Whereas with] Lewis you always feel could go either way...

good luck came to Seb as well. Ferrari gifted him his first WDC. Both Seb and Lewis have a WDC to their name. It's the total body of work, not just the last race.

JB, dark horse? Really? He's been world champ, best of the rest now AND in the Honda behind both Ferraris a few years ago.
He's 1 of the smoothest drivers in the paddock.

LH, needs to let his natural game flow again otherwise he'll struggle.
He says he wasn't in a good place last year, he's a professional, leave it out of work, we all have too.

My prediction is top 3 Vettel, Button, Hamilton. Just gonna have to wait and see which order.

JB overtook cars 26 times to win in Canada. Not bad really, DRS or no. He drove brilliantly and deserved the win. A truly masterful performance, as most reasonable people will agree.
JB had a very difficult time in the first few years, but he got through it all. Luck always plays it's part in winning the championship, as it did in 2009, but to win it, you do actually have to drive the bloody thing, and he had to drive his socks off in Brazil.
JB fully deserves his place in the sun. He is showing what most of us knew he could do all along,(see his performances in the Honda 2004). He just needed the right team and a decent car.
I hope JB can go one better this year and win the title.
If it is Vettel again, so be it. At least Seb is winning his titles honestly unlike a certain other German driver.

It annoys me no end how Button can never seem to get any respect.

The haters, mostly Vettel and Hamilton fans, always prat on about how Button is just lucky. Every time he wins, it was lucky. He won the championship by luck. He beat Hamilton by luck. Unreal. I wish I could have some of Buttons 'luck'.

He wins the WDC but that was just lucky cause the Brawn was the best car. Well Vettels red bull last year was far more superior than the Brawn of 2009, but Vettel won cause he is 'Brilliant'. What a joke. They win the same way, yet it was lucky for button but brilliance from Vettel. I don't get it.

Why aren't people saying that Button wad robbed in 2011 by the redbull blown exhaust?

Hamilton beats Button in 2010, cause Hamilton is just a superior racer and put Button in his place. Button beats Hamilton in 2011, by a bigger margin, but that was just luck.

You are wasting your time here Bobkp. You only have to read the posts across this forum to see that and it just isn't worth doing your head in.
They are what they are and they will never change.
Best ignore certain posters and just communicate with the knowledgeable fans.
I have always been a JB fan. I was in the Williams garage at Silverstone at his first major test. He did let the playboy bit, go to his head, if we are honest, but he got serious again and has become a very strong contender.
I know what it is to struggle, so I wouldn't mind some of JB's luck myself, but successful people often say, the harder you work, the luckier you get, and JB works very very hard.
So, ignore the nay sayers, JB has proved them all wrong time and again.
He gets better and stronger every year.
It is going to be a great season and I do hope that JB can take the prize.

You make me laugh with your analysis! In 2009 Jenson had a car almost 3 or more seconds faster than any other car on the grid, I could remember was it Turkey he lapped Lewis after around 10 laps! The main fact here is that when everyone had installed there D diffuser Button didn't win a from half way through the season! Button had to tip toe to the title! Vettel in blew everyone away winning the title in Japan! Jensons best season ever he was almost 125 points away from the champion with only 3 wins the same wins as Lewis who had his worst season ever.... Lewis having an average season would have racked up 5 or 6 wins. But Jenson winning!!! Forget it
