Money is paid for every race? Is there any other country with a dubious civil rights record/status which is visited by F1? China? Malaysia? USA? etc. Bahrain is far from what it should be but it's about as good as it gets in the region and it might be better to encourage its ongoing reforms rather than encourage its fundamentalist led oppoition.

$$$ is the only reason why F1 goes anywhere, this probably has more to do with the way the contract is written and Bernie trying not to look like he has no 'intent' on keeping his side of the bargain. That said, there really is not a reason why F1 shouldn't go to Bahrain, at the present time.
