smoothie. it doesnt matter a jot, what tyres are used, or the name on the side. all drivers have to use the same tyre, and to say that lulu on bridgestones would be faster than button on pirellis, is absolute tosh.
the fia dictate who makes the tyres and the wear rate required. whoever supplies the tyres have to act to the dictates. do you believe that fia mandated pirellis just to handicap lulu?
it is up to the driver to use the equpment provided, to the best advantage. a GOOD driver will adapt better. so if lulu cannot adapt, does this make him NOT a good driver? YOU decide.

So glad the stepped nose doesn't appear to be that important in terms of performance. My suspicion during pre-season is that high noses are less important without double and blow diffusers. Mclarens car philosophy could be significant as other teams will find it hard to copy their winning formula.

I don't agree. Lewis quicker than Button over 1 lap as we saw in practise and quali when pirelli's wont wear due to doing 1 or 2 laps but in a race they just wear, on the bridgestone Lewis can drive hard and fast and not have to worry about tyre degradation Lewis needs to go to Indy wear his type of driving will yield results as slicmagic says f1 should be about going as fast as possible, instead we see a talent being ruined by having to save tyres instead of racing.

The American market could do with an out an out racer like Lewis specially on the ovals.

Fine I'll agree with you Smooth, Lulu should sod off to the US and hopefully all of his one eyed fans will follow him, leave F1 to real fans who remember a time prior to 2007. Sounds like utopia to me.

To finish first, First you have to finish.
That means not only being the fastest on the day
It also means looking after your equipment.
So some of you think Jens is boring because he knows how to look after his tyres???
Do you actually know anything about motor racing?
Prost was not called The Professor for nothing. He might not have always been exciting to watch, but he was very smooth and that won him 4 world titles.
Jens has the same smooth style, his qualifying is getting better, and he knows how to overtake, as he showed today, and in Canada last year to give but two examples.
He is ultra smooth and exciting to watch.
Seb fans please note that Seb said Jens fully deserved his win today. End of.

Yes he should come to the US where he will be appreciated and wont have to put up with horrible f1 fans.

richard, i said Lewis is a 1 dimensional driver so how is he supposed to adapt when all he knows is to drive fast? which was not a problem on the bridgestone tyres.

I have never been a big fan of Lewis but would have always put him well ahead of Jenson until the second half of 2011. The quali pace was very close this week but the way Button pulled away in the race was unbelievable.
I would expect Lewis to pull away then lose out later in the race, never for Button to pull away from Lewis like he did today. To get around 12s ahead with both in clean air, 3s maybe to keep the gap in clean air, seems to be a bit topsy turvey. I thought Lewis would be on a confidence high after quali and walk it but he seems to have lost the plot already.
Jense seems to have improved massively in the last year or so, maybe the youth policy of some teams to try them and dump them is proving to be wide of the mark. Give them decent experience and they will come good.
