If it wasn't his day and he finished on the podium then it was a good day. Lewis shouldn't get down over this. He has a good car and is very fast. He will have better days ahead if he can focus.

Oh look! I knew it was only a matter of time until the fan boys brought Whitmarsh into it!

Martin Whitmarsh didn't cause Lewis to get a terrible start, Lewis did.
Whitmarsh didn't make Jenson pull a 3,5sec gap in the opening laps, that was Jenson racing well and Lewis not keeping up.
Whitmarsh didn't make the safety car come out, that was bad luck, but there was NO WAY Lewis was gonna win that race.

@ Paul

Button has been beat by his teammate in 4/11 seasons. In three of those cases (His first two seasons and 2008) it was by MUCH more experienced drivers. The other season was 2010 when he was JUST behind Lewis. And at the moment they're sitting at 1 each. As for how long it took him to get a win, for his first few seasons he was not in a top car, unlike Hami in a Mclaren from the word go. Also he started in the Schumi dominance era.

Judge today on what happens today/

Jenson had the pace most of free practice, Hamilton has the ability to go faster than his setup warrants, he just needs to get that setup right. Its clear he didnt even really have the race pace to take on either Red Bulls. Hamilton finishing 3rd and not 4th or 5th where his race pace suggested means Hamilton definitely gave it a good effort. Good damage recovery, hopefully Hamilton gets some good free practice sessions in next round.

As is usual after a race I discuss the results with likeminded friends who support's different teams and drivers. An Australian on MW'S bad start, he “MW” pressed the speed limiter by mistake. A Briton, the kid “Lulu” was a total embarrassment after the race and when interviewed, Lulu's attitude looked like Button did something wrong by beating him fair and square, I am shocked that he is obviously not happy for his team mate, I am sensing serious team mate war. Another Briton, Button was plain quicker, he had Lulu covered all the way and Lulu knows it, hence his glum and looking so downtrodden, he is losing the plot, he may end up like Montoya driving pick-ups.

did you watch the race? as soon as hamilton got out the car he went straight to button to congrats him and hug n stuff like they do, in every interview he always said congrats to button and that he did an amazing job and thanks to the team. i think his glum look was just confusion as to where the speed went from qually but im sure after speaking to his team he will realise that a 3rd is a great result especially after last year and IT IS ONLY THE FIRST RACE!

on another subject what the hell was maldando doing, i hate the guy but he did a great job to get where he was (see even though i dislike someone i can still see the job they are doing from a open minded point of view unlike allthe hammy haters) why was he pushing so hard on the last lap and slap it into the wall. williams would have been fuming

TLG you're as bright as Kenny. You call everyone "hammy haters" then say "Maldonado I hate the guy" spot the double standards?

No doubt you hate him because Lulu drove into him a couple of times last year, A bit like Kenny's reason for hating Massa, very logical reason for hatred.
