Great race! Button did well, vettel (my guy) did greater than I expected! Lewis was disappointed but he stop being Mr Nice guy he should have done what Schumacher, Vettel or Alonso by squeezing Button on to the grass! Nice men won't win in F1

@kiwibob

It was actually more than 100,000

But it was far less than the BBC re-run last year, so very disappointing.

Overall across all channels unique viewers were down 24.6%, far more than expected.

@Caroline...really, please tell me it's true that Sky received a 5th of the unique figures it promised sponsors and advertisers.

How did you find out what they promised to deliver? It would make my christmas come early to discover they are that deep in the proverbial.

caroline. the figures for tam ratings are taken from a sample, and small number of viewers, some of whom may not have sky. then the percentage is multiplied by 100,000 or so, to represent the entire viewing audience of tv. so ONE person watching bbc, could add 100,000 to the viewing figures.
there is no accurate way to find out how many actually watched sky or bbc. for example, you could have 10 or so people in one sky subscribers house for the race, and nobody would be able to count these.

most of your posts are very pro bbc, so i have a suspicion that you are carrying out a pr campaign?

to me, i dont care what the "stats" claim to show. i will watch either, but sky has the edge as they reshow the race, something bbc never bothered to do!

Jose, your gyros have always been a bit out of calibration, maybe that's why I always like reading your posts. Keep up the good work. I will partially support you re Hamilton although I'm a Webber man myself. But the real show hasn't started - Pedro didn't get a run... yet.

@Richard

I know, I mean it's not like they put it on BBC iPlayer for people to watch again or anything....

Unlike Sky who put it on Sky Go/Anytime the minute it finished...oh wait no, sorry thats the wrong way round...

Searches Sky Player on my xbox for Grand Prix...nope not there.
