F1 » McLaren too strong again in tight qualifying

McLaren booked themselves a second consecutive front row all to themselves, with Lewis Hamilton on pole position ahead of Jenson Button for Sunday's race in Malaysia.

@HartleyF1

Button is starting on the dirty side, its way different to Australia.. Michael Schumacher pass one or Both McLaren by the time he exit turn 3... Button have to cross over to Lewis side the clean or else if he decides to stay on the dirty side to turn one then he could kiss the race good bye.

i agree with some posters on here... seb might be on to something re his hard tyres providing it does not start raining shortly after the start. i als think MS might not end where he started due to their issue with tyre preservation. I do hope for some rain as this will provide all teams with an more even playing field regarding tyres and it will be down to the drivers then to make the most of ihat situation. Re NR me thinks he over did it a it on his last lap, thats all.

a couple of interesting innovations. both williams and sauber have done away with front brake ducts, for sepang. i wonder if they will have problems in the heat?

and gascoyne has said that he would choose button over lulu, for a seat in the caterham! so another door closed for lulu. now, what about hrt?

I think Lewis still needs to get a handle on his car with higher fuel loads, Im not sure he will be able to keep up for very long with out sacrificing his tires, early pit. I think Vettel has the best shot if his pace is reasonable. I dont see the huge disparity in lap times like last race though, as Jenson isnt that much better than Lewis @ Sepang, and I doubt Lewis will have a poor setup for the race, like last time. If Lewis wins, it will probably be pretty demanding the first half of the race.

calvin. well, caterham has kovi, had trulli and now has petrov. by no means the worst choices. his comment has been reported on a number of sites, so presumably he was asked a question.

Richard, did you see Lulu's brake issues is Q1 (i think) clouds of brake dust coming off the front left at the big stops, it looked a bit excessive. And I take it he'll be starting with the tyres that he set his fastest lap on, ie the ones that he flat spotted going into the final corner?

Not a hate rant fanboys, just some casual observations from an "armchair racer"

ty. who is this fake person? he seems to not have the faintest mechanical knowledge.

and yes. lulu will have problems. he was over driving. tomorrow he will either be overdriving again after the start, to either keep ahead of button, or to try and keep up with him.
result? one of the first to stop.

dont go slithering across the road in front of him again. he is not a member of the rspca!
