F1 » Karthikeyan criticised by Vettel, penalised by officials

HRT driver Narain Karthikeyan has been compared to a "cucumber" by Sebastian Vettel, and given a post-race by the race stewards. But at least Jenson Button doesn't blame him.

103%???

You realise that Massa, Raikkonen and Perez plus the 6 behind them wouldn't have qualified for the race in Australia. There would only have been 15 cars in the race. And in Malaysia Vergne, who finished 7th would have just scraped into the race by less than 1/10th of a second.

the only idiot here was vettel, at least button was man enough to admit his error but finger just proved once more what sour loser he really is. i cannot but wonder how all those ppl could compare him with senna last year. maybe as this year championship will unfold everyone will see him as the regular nothing special driver that he is, who was just lucky enough to have the best car and a whole team pushing him for the titles.

Karthikeyan apologised to Button for their incident . but Button was man enough to admit that he couldn't slow down for the corner and it was his fault he hit Karthikeyan.Cant believe Kartikeyan got penalised for the Vettel incident- looked like another example of the wunderkind not knowing how long his car is and turning onto the racing line too soon again.

I really do feel sorry for Karthikeyan. He drove a good race, showed that he is a very good wet weather driver, beat his more experience teammate and two top guys have a collision with him. Now, Vettel is calling Narain an idiot or cucumber etc... You can be a world champion etc... but that doesn't give you the right to be a jerk. He's having a bad year so far, with a car that is not dominant and now he is taking it out on a backmarker. Look at Button, that is how true champions behave!

p.s - Narain is a highly underrated driver, people like John Watson, Peter Windsor, Jackie stewart, Emerson Fittipaldi have shown great confidence in his speed. Given a good car, I am sure he can be very very quick out there.

This just proves one thing!

Jenson has a much stronger character than Vettel to admit fault with Narain!!! This is why Jenson is more respected by other drivers and this is why I believe he'll be mentally strong this season and be 2012 champion or at least very close. If you fault yourself, move on and learn from it, it makes you a better driver, something Vettel should learn!!!

Richard I dont think he admitted he was out of control. He said he had pulled over to let Vettel pass but ran out of road and had to come back onto the race surface.Just because the WC is passing you doesn't mean you bin your car to let him by.Seb needs to be a little more aware of his surroundings. This seemed like a 50/50 incident to me.

Vettel admits his mistakes and is much stronger than many other drivers on d grid including the 2 champps on podium 2day.

Acc. 2 redbull, Vettel admits his mistakes and it helps him learn. U can see d diff in his driving betn 2010 n 2011.

BTW whats up with Kartik****? He likes 2 race n knock out champions while they lap him. Many a times he doesn't obey d blue flags n he didn't with Seb too. I remember a few yrs back Villenueve too had a problem with him while lapping and NK said i 22 am a F1 driver but he was being lapped.
