numiiiii, do I even know you, to call me a fool? I am from a free country and i have my opinion, do you have a problem with that? First of all, what Sauber told Perez, was, they needed that position. For me this is a clear, dont attack Alonso, stay second, slow down. Second, IN MY OPINION, Alonso had much more to lose than Sauber. Alonso wants to be champion, he needs the points. Sauber never won a race, it was going to be the highest point in their history. Maybe they will never get a chance so clear like this one. Third, Sauber has already 4 or 5 podiums

Fletcher: I don't mind it. Sauber has goals that are different than those of a wealthy front-running team. It's one of the things that I like about F1, that up and down the grid, everyone has something to play for, whether it's HRT hoping to qualify and run long to gather data, Caterham to comfortably finish in the top 10 constructors, Sauber or FI to take 5th or 6th overall or Ferrari to win WDC/WCC. It gives you something to genuinely cheer for all down the line. Any doubt about what an amazing unhoped-for victory those 18 points were for Sauber vanished when I saw the tears on Peter Sauber's face. I'm thrilled for Sauber and I'm thrilled for Ferrari.

But you're right: You run those last 10 laps 100 different times, and Checo and Fernando swap positions just as often as they don't.

What a rubbish talk?
Sauber or Perez won't be surrender position to Ferrari even if they have chance to over take Alonso Ferrari car.
It's not easy to over take experience driver Alonso on Ferrari even if your car was faster than Alonso car.
Perez had made at least two mistakes on Malaysia GP. Fortunately, Sauber race strategy for him and weather help him to finish second. Sauber strategy always favors Perez because Sauber car is not fastest car on grid and the one or two stop strategy suit the car.
Kobayashi car was always on two or three stop strategy it usually suitable for fast car like MaClaren, Red Bull, Renault-Lotus and Mercedes team. Sauber wants to score at least one car. That's why Sauber always use different strategy on each car. Kobayashi is No.1 driver so he has take two or three stop strategy as more experienced driver.
Good start for Kobayashi he gain 11 places at start but brake problem let him down.
Kobayashi and Perez both drivers are very good in controlling their t

Sauber didn't get free Engine from Ferrari.
Chance to win Formula One race is once in life time opportunity for small team like Sauber and Perez.
Peter Sauber has been hunting for win for all of his life. Sauber won't be throw away rare opportunity.
Peoples like rumor, gossip and inflate news.
Sauber will be definitely flattered for this rumor. Of course, Peter Sauber wants to win and Perez does as well.

Why were Sauber so intent that Perez should be careful & not lose the place?

Despite what fools and conspiracy theorists would like us all to believe its a fairly simple reason.

A podium position guarantees the teams transport fees & costs for next season are paid for by F1 and not out of Sauber's budget.

Championship points mean that a percentage of transport costs are paid by F1 on a sliding scale based on how many points but a podium guarantees 100% of the costs are paid. For a small underfunded team like Sauber that makes a massive difference.

Well they do say the more you look the less we see! I guess the Italians might have felt that we all have been watching "Eyes wide shut" we we are all not that blind! The quesation would be asked if Perez was behind Webber would we here the mystry call from the pit? NO!!!! Kobayashi makes majority of the most dangerous move in F1 one of the "heart in your mouth" kind of moves but not once the pit crew has called in to say take it easy Suzuka 2010 Koba was didving in corners the would have had his nose wiped clean off lap after lat not once the pit crew called to same "we need this position" but once again we have seen the ugly side of Ferrari again! We need thid position is clear enough! They didn't say keep your nose clean or tell Perez pass him on the straight! The said WE NEED THIS POSITION (2ND) not 1st

jenny. wolfy makes the point very clearly. far better that sauber get the points for second, than risk losing them all by a relatively experienced driver going for a banzai attack on a known fighter.

googol. weird comment! are you trying to say that ferrar would be telling ferdi to drive faster?
