While never truly content with third place in a Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton nonetheless declared himself "satisfied" with his podium finish in Malaysia in the circumstances

I am surprised that Hamilton didn't managed a better result. After Button collided with Karthikeyan, I thought that Lewis was the favourite to win the race.He always was amazing in wet races, managing to be fast in every lap.But yesterday he was in the shadows for most of the race.At least Button managed to be fastest time to time.

Finished third inspite of weather conditions and naff pit stops, the championship is made up of another eighteen events, getting results when things 'are' going his way against his team mate will be another challenge

LH has not been passed on track in the last two races but twice in a row has been overtaken in the pits, a scenario over which he has had no control. Go figure. Its hard to make up seconds on track that are thrown away at a pit stop.

@firestorm button Manage what? The fastest time! He used 4 sets of "inter" tyres whereas the rest used 2! Even Ricarrdo had a fastest lap! I wonder what CRASH would have done if it was Lewis that crash into the HRT? This site would make the Rio carnival look like a tea party!!!

Taz, Nicole was in Melbourne too. Didn't you see the pics of her with LH's mum? Looks a bit set up to me.

Firestorm, JB had a fast car, no chance of scoring points and a pretty clear road ahead of him. Setting fast laps is what any such driver would do to keep themselves awake.

Firestorm, I too am most surprised that Lulu didn't managed a better result, I am still trying to figure out why as I am not sure if its technical or a mind set. I know that he was compromised twice during pit stops but in truth the mclaren went off the boil, he just had no response for the pace of the cars in front of him, as to his attitude/behaviour for getting this third place (it's still a third place like in the race before this) the difference is (and I am convinced of it) this time he finished in front of his team mate, he is not telling the truth, the 3rd position doesn't really matter, what matters to him is finishing in front of his team mate.

With that potential pit stop disaster, he should certainly be happy with 3rd. And it puts him back in front of JB in the WDC points. All in all, a good day for Lewis..
