While never truly content with third place in a Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton nonetheless declared himself "satisfied" with his podium finish in Malaysia in the circumstances

Bjbanny, the pit stops wouldn't have made any difference to Lulu as either he or the car or may be both simply had no answer/had no response for the pace of the cares in front of him.

Lewis went into the pit 2 seconds ahead of Alonso, that would mean Alonso would have to pass Lewis on the track? Well!!!! Which would also mean Perez would have to pass Lewis as well!

This also mean less pressure on Button because Lewis behind Button, got Button to dive in on the HRT, that led to a CRASH!!!!

@Richard, Yes we all know the race is done, but if you choose to ignore the FACT Hamilton recieved shoody service from his team which IMO dropped him 2 places thats up to you pal.
Ferrari nailed Alonsos stops on Sunday and they and him know thats how they won it, hence Fernando stating the win changes nothing about the position they are in.
Do you honestly think Alonso and Perez would have passed on track had Hamilton not dropped the places in the pits?
And there is no question thats where he did drop them it happened fact.

HRC, I am assuming that you watched the race so my simple question is, do you believe that Alonso and Perez wouldn't have been able to or would have found any difficulty to get past Lulu? You can only answer the above question if you have seen the respective pace of the three cares in question (watched the race that is)!

@107SS2009 I have my doubts they would have got past Hamilton yes.
How fast you can lap in clean air is vastly different to when youre following someone who wants to stay there whilst you destroy your tyres, which has been proven time and time again as you should well know.

HRC, I have my doubt as to you having watched the race, as far as I know Lulu was driving in clean air, Perez the man in front of him was certainly not effecting his air! Or maybe you believe that for a driver to be driving in clean air he should be the only one on track.

hrc. pit work, good or bad is part of what passes as a race nowadays. i doubt that any team can do a perfect 3 sec stop, every time. rbr had a problem in oz, but people didnt use it as an excuse for not having pace. as i said, we could all cite various ..what ifs, and the race result would have been different. who knows if lulu could have held off alonso and perez. somehow i doubt it. you have your opinion, i have mine.

Martin Whitmarsh said that the (real) contenders didnt score many points, the real contender for what Hamilton wants is always his team mate. He started a trend at Monza 2009 where he binned it chasing Button, Monza 2010 Button hits the front and he hits Massa, plus the easy going nature of Button, he accepts defeat graciously, seem to be a lot for Lewis to compete with, taking a podium when your team mate fails to score in the 'best' car us almost as good as a win come the end of the season.

107SS2009 Perez would have caught up with Alonso faster than what happened yesterday then the choice would be Alonso should I attack Lewis or defend against Perez?

@Richard, well theres your problem, I'm not making excuses for anything, I'm simply voicing my opinion, which is just as valid as yours if not more so, seeing as I've substantiated why.

Jenny thank you, at least someone can be objective enough to see my point.
