Fernando Alonso is not the best driver on the grid, says 1979 F1 world champion, Jody Scheckter.

race hound, if you knew anything about f1 you would no by me mentioning Byrne and Fry i could not of been talking about race wins but about championships as Byrne was instrumental in Schumi's dominance when he came from Benton to Ferrari. He came along with Brawn and turned an under performing Ferrari team into a championship winning team.

As for Pat Fry who was the Engineer at Mclaren before going to Ferrari in 2010, he and Alonso have now failed to do what Byrne and Schumi did in turning Ferrari into a championship winning team. i mentioned nothing about race wins that's just you trying to look clever and failing

2009, your just a typical bod who feels Hammi fans should only talk about Hammi and nothing else well my friend i can be insulting as much as the other person but i really don't come on here to insult people so i will decline in responding to you as i would like to.

Ron, what I feel should be is when someone undertakes to talk about something on a forum he at least should make sure or at least make an effort to understand the thing he is talking about (EBD'S AND SUCH).
And Ron I don't really mind which way it goes talking to me, I never really did, I can handle it, so don't worry too much about it and go ahead whichever way you like.

Right on Jody!
One good strategy doesn't make you The Ultimate Driver.
Let's calm down and face the facts: Kimi came to SF and won the title for BIG RED from Take1. Santander boy Alonso landed in his seat with Spanish milions and won - nothing. Zilch, nada, zero...That's a fact. Kimi's car couldn't walk on water either, but he did it big time anyway. Massa? Everything has perished with Timo Glock brasilian "MoveRightFastGate" and that unfortunate Rubens spring... SV? Spolied brat. LH? Can't save the tires, even if his life would depend on it. JB? Close, very close to great. Last mistake didn't help, but looking for the next 18 races, Jense could be IT. Best of the bunch? KIMI... but we already knew that.

Jody,

You won 1 title to Alonso's 2. It also took you 8 years to do it. Alonso won 2 by his 5th full season. On top of that, Alonso has won more races and pole positions than you.

give the man his due credit

Fernando Alonso is the best overall racing driver in F1 at the moment. Probably the only one capable of making a sub standard car look better than it is.

I have much respect for Jody Schekter in what he achieved in F1 ( as wild as he was ) and in his post racing business success, but on this topic he is talking absolute BS.

@superman if Stirling Moss had said Lewis is rubbish his opinion would be taking as Gospel by everyone despite he has no championship winning medal but Jody voiced his opinion but because he hasn't had the same achievement Alonso his opinion is muted!!!

@Taz picking a hooker is a personal issue or private issue had nothing to do with his career
