I'll ask you one of the many questions I asked RGB, which he conveniently refused to answer. What is your point? That lulu is a greater driver than Alonso? Why don't you just come out and say so! Instead of rubbishing Alonso's achievements? I said at the beginning of this that for me, Al

Am not a Lewis fan but Alonso is more experience than lewis I think almost 7 or 8 years. But Alonso ending Schummy's reign had more to do with F1 trying cripple Schummy dominance of F1 with the new rules with tyre changes which favoured cars with Michellin I think Schummy won one race that only had 4 drivers.
Alonso winning in a Renault which was one of the fastest cars if not the fastest. Like Schummy who also won in a Benatton Renault proved himself in another car. Alonso has now driver a McLaren and Ferrari and still hasnt delivered a title... is he waiting for the Redbull seat

Jenny, ronsgoldenboy
U know what made that slow WDC most complete. Being beaten by a rookie in equal car, 4th place in WDC in the car with fastest budget, unable to overtake a rookie paydriver in Abu Dhabi 2010, requesting team to order his teammate to swap positions coz he is d best overtaker of d field, requesting his team to short fuel and change d strategy of his rookie teammate, waiting for Kimi's, Michael's ans Seb Vettel's car to break down in more than 1 races when they were the his title rivals, his teammate crashing to help him with the strategy to win the race and oh I forgot not winning the titel for 5 years when Vettel and Hamilton started racing in F1.

BTW, being outqualified by Trulli and a rookie Hamilton as teammates makes him the fastest driver on the grid and someone who can extract everything from the car. Even Massa had outqualified him in starting races on 2011.

Really when will people accept he is slow, not his car and hence not the most complete driver.

And just before I go, there's no doubt some will now come out and describe all sorts of reasons why Ron Dennis decided to side with one of his drivers against the other (still terrible management in my opinion and if a lesser management member had done it, they should have been fired on the spot!). They will delve into the scandal that engulfed the team, threats and counter threats, etc. but that is a whole nother discussion for which that team did not cover itself in glory. End result? A $100,000,000 fine!

Alonso is no human saint, neither is Dennis, who tried to hang Mike Coughlan out to dry as the lone rogue engineer, etc etc. all of that is history now. But regarding the question of best driver, technical ability, competitiveness in inferior equipment, number of titles won, etc, just go on the facts before you and there is only one answer! It used to be Schumi. But now it is Alonso. Not lulu, not Jenson, not Vettel, not even Kimi. And there I rest my case.

The most complete driver on the grid is the one who is delivering results(winning) or the one who team principals rate.

Vettel was voted as 5th 2008,1st2009, 2nd2010, 1st2011 by teamprincipals.

They are better judges than us fans, aren't they?

so. i fully agree that ferdi is a far better all round driver than the illustrious lulu. maybe lulu beat him in 2008, but since then hasnt ferdi beaten lulu every year since, despite not having a better car?

@Angela you couldnt put it any better! for the best all round driver who needed 4th place to win the WDC and was sitting 3rd on the grid. couldnt pass Petrov for almost 30 laps OH PLEASE

BTW i doubt Ferrari is that DOG in the hands of faster drivers like Vettel and Hamilton.

Ferrari have 2 slow drivers. The car is not maximised.

Deluded fans also forget that Ferrari has the highest budget. The cars cannot be slow.

@Ty, Richard, Silent

Quick question.

At any circuit (you could throw in Monaco) do you think if Vettel was given 20 laps to pass Petrov just to win the title, would he pass his man?

loool Jenny is making me laugh sooo hard here! What? So Alonso is more experienced than lulu? Right, so you agree with me that Ron Dennis miscalculated in going against his natural instincts and backing the rookie who then proceeded to choke and lost him the title?? Finally, we are getting somewhere, even though it's taken all evening (here in the UK anyway). If you were fruiting technical staff, who would you give a job? The more experienced or less experienced candidate? Well, you've more or less answered my question lol

Angelina, of course the team principals have a right to decide who they consider the best driver. And they are probably more right than the rest of us. And that is the point of a place like a forum, where we can all discuss these things. But the point you're making there is like shifting the goalposts in this discussion! In any case, they've voted Alonso best driver more times than lulu. And I also take on the views of someone like Ross Brawn more than others, even
