The timing of this protest was not clever. Lotus F1 should have protested at the first race OR after the first race if they wanted to. Nothing has changed since then. I hope that they don't appeal, teams need to just get on with it now. The protest fee should be 200 000 Euro and not 2000, it is just too cheap for these guys.

Has Ross Brawn and his team really got one over on Adrian Newey in the 'aero devices' department. Now that everyone knows the device is legal, will the full effect (even cleverer) of the hole in the front of the Red Bull become apparent

the fia have used the 'loop-hole' i said they would months ago... that the device is not operated directly by the driver but as a result of the movement of the drs device.

if it ever went to court any qc worth his/her salt would have used the same mitigation.

next year i'm sure there will be an explicit rule outlawing such devices, that normally how the fia work when they've been caught out lol.

2pac, I don't agree that the FIA have been caught out, the FIA gave Mercedes the go ahead before the car was standing on its wheels, like they did with the mclaren F-duct, there were many more such examples of this sort.
As I said some time ago, the FIA should stop these sort of manipulations/politics, the first thing the FIA should stop doing is giving advice to teams as to the legality of a system which is intended to be used, a team is supposed to fully understands what is legal or not, they are supposed to present a car to be scrutinised and the FIA will pass it legal or not.

Can we get on with some racing now!!!!
BTW is it true that runners from Red Bull, Mclaren, Ferrari and Lotus were seen at the local Chinese equivalent of B&Q purchasing bits of drain pipe, gaffer tape and self tapping screws!!!!!
