F1 » Vettel 'pretty happy' with fifth given poor first lap

Sebastian Vettel: We got some good points and it was a good recovery from 15th. Mercedes won pretty comfortably today, so well done to them.

eddie. newey had said that he didnt know which exhaust was more effective, and had stated that the cars would run two different systems at this race, for evaluation. seb elected to go for the older system as he found the balance better.
but imagine what would have been said, had seb asked for the newer exhaust. this site would have been alive with the old "favouritism" cries. so, was webber the recipient of faouritism this weekend??

we got Mark track position to Lewis and he just lost out at the end there

Yes, he also passed Finger Boy.... So did Lewis, again, this time not for the lead, but their faces in this photo say it all.

No longer racing with the luxury of a second or more in hand, how ordinary they look.

@ Richard, Vettel was given the choice, not Mark. All reports clearly state Vettel 'chose' the old system. So yep, the favouritism is alive and well at RedBull. Surely it wont last much longer if Mark continually outpoints him! (tongue firmly in cheek)

Mark Webber is a sportsman and takes the good with the bad. Unfortunantly Vettel is a legend in his own mind. When he has a car that is 1 second faster than Webber and the field he waves his finger around like a clown. So Vettel where are you hiding the finger now ?

"Pretty happy"??? Did anyone watch him being interviewed? He certainly wasn't letting his face know!

The boy is rattled and I fully expect a Hamilton-esque post championship win meltdown

What ville people the posters on this site are. No congrats for a 15th to 5th drive. No congrats for still being in the hunt after being knocked out of the points by a backmarker last round...

This season is shaping up to be epic, and all you can do its trash a 2xWDC for not winning a race the most competitive season we have seen in a long time.

Fanbois and anti-fanbois are the only bad part of this race!

Great job Nico, awesome pace till the end!

He did race a smart race managing his tyres well - What happened to Kimi at the end could have easily happened to him . Strange that Hamilton was not that far ahead of Vettel even though he is clearly happier with his car. If Seb starts qualifying better he will be hard to beat.
