Ya. its an EQUIPMENT issue. Jenson had 4 pitstops (one at very short notice) all of them almost flawless. His worst pitstop was the about the same as Lewis's best (3rd pitstop).

Damn you Jens, you not only have worked the team to come around you but also the equipment?

Saying that he is a likable man.

Taipan, He couldnt overtake alonso in the "junk" ferrari because the car wasnt quick enough! The ferrari seems to have pretty competitive race pace at certain points in the GP anyway, and plus, alonos is one of the top drivers.Hamilton and Buttons pace was pretty much identical throughout the race, Hamilton only fell behind because of his tops. And Button was stuck behind Di Resta for just as long as Hamilton was behind Alonso!, proving that the car doesnt quite have race winning pace, both drivers say there is work to be done.

taipan,
He would not have been behind the Ferraris if the pit crew had done their job in the 1st place. Stop clutching at straws here, Mclaren race pace was generally poor.

truth is when it comes to qualifying hamilton looks really good and jenson not so bad but come race day the mclaren looks sluggish compared to the other cars that seem to dart into the corners as for hamiltons pit stops today it was riduculas okay he could only manage maby 4th without any problems but seriously mclaren need to get it together pretty uick or this year is over for them!!

at jenny . mclaren would never try to screw one of there drivers over no way i am sure ov it but what seams to be happining is that they are getting nervous and making school boy errors. end of the day it doesnt matter how much you practice these pitstops it only counts in the race where thery seriously have to get it together im a massive mclaren fan and hope the sort this out before its too late

The team deserve to be publically criticsed. IMHO Mclaren are the worst team strategically out of all the top teams, and possibly even the whole grid, at least relative to expectations. They have had so many problems with pitstops and also seem completely clueless when it comes to strategy. IMO the only reason that Button doesn't get done in by terrible strategy (staying out too long etc) as often as Hamilton is that he makes a lot of his own strategy calls whereas Hamilton leaves it to his utterly inept team. These pitstop problems are completely unacceptable.

IMO Hamilton should seriously think about trying to get Schumi's drive at Mercedes next year, as they appear to be on the serious up, and they actually have a serious team principle who can call streategy in Ross Brawn, and a serious team that knows how to do pit stops.

"That's how championships are lost" - Yeah, he would know, wouldn't he? On the other hand you could also argue that that's how he won his title, with Massa having several botched pitstops along the way...
