In my opinion the mclaren pit crew were not at fault in both of Lulus pit stops. The left rear wheel gun man was replaced after the first pit stop because of possible stress/upset (a good decision and a standard one). The two problems were totally deferent to each other, at the first pit stop the wheel gun socket and the wheel nut did not/could not engage, the engagement is effected on both the face of the nut and the socket (serrations) described as slots by MW, which is the same as a dog clutch, there are magnets on the parts of the male and female of the serrations firstly so that the nut will not fall off the gun when it is removed from the wheel and secondly it will help the serrations line up on engagement. At the second pit stop with a fresh wheel gun man and with both the wheel gun and the wheel nut replaced the wheel nut was cross threaded, this is something that I can assure readers that it doesn't depend on the wheel gun man, if it does nine out of ten nuts threads would be

my 8 year old son asked me why they keep messing up his pit stops i said so i dont know. but i do just dont want to fill his mind with negativity. why do mclaren make such bad calls for lewis and inspirational ones for buton. 1st race clutch 2nd gear box 3rd slow pit stop 4th two slow pit stops. his team always finds away of losing him places. remember china in his first year, have you ever seen a team let one its drivers race on a tire that looked like that. he had a 17 point lead why not pit him 2 or 3 laps before. wheels always flying of at the start of his career. someone at the team or a group of people does not want him to succeed

People on here that can/have the will to understand my post as to the facts on Lulu's pit stop will be able to see how totally wrong and out of order are those on here blaming the pit crew, these pit crews needs support and not unjust criticism.

Empower, If you really think that McLaren plan good stops for Button and bad stops for Lulu I'm afraid your sons head is probably already full of nonsense. Did your son ask you why Button always seems to get the mechanical failures and Lulu has only had 3 in his entire F1 career? In fact even if your son hasn't asked you that pertinent question I am, care to answer?

Anyone who knows f1 well enough knows that the moment you get in-to the one second window you experience the dreaded dirty air. the tires fell like they have lost all grip and fell like their are graining and the car feels different look for example catalunya when the faster car may have not be able to get by due to this. also that ferrari is pretty fast down the straight and finally alonso is a very good driver everyone must know that (and i am a hamilton supporter).

A good thing Lewis could take from this is that he didn't hit massa :P and he isn't that far behind for the title. Consistency will win the title. Anyone who watched motogp would know in 2006 Hayden only won the title due to being more consistent than rossi.

I am still trying to figure out what was wrong with Buttons engine, he reported strange exhaust nose.
What was wrong this time with the Mercedes DDRS speed advantage, were they using the wrong gearing? And so hitting the speed limiter?.
KR seemed to have gave up hope of overtaking SV, he seemed to have settled for second, or was there something wrong with the car/fuel/tyres?
