A furious Lewis Hamilton has called for an inquest into his two disastrous pit stops during the Bahrain Grand Prix that lost his crucial time and track position.

paul. i dont like the tyres that are manufactured to degrade. but saying that, all drivers are given the same tyres, so it is up to them to manage the wear. in shanghai and bahrain, seb managed his better than kimi, and di resta managed his better than anyone else.

taz. the first foul-up was due to the wheel not aligning with the studs, so may have been the wheelmans fault, as the wheel would have to be rotated to lock onto the studs. the second was a cross threading.

Obviously Hammi had a bit of bad luck in the pits but....he did not impress with his driving either so...Mclaren has a bit of work to do or Hammi needs to improve a bit. He was unable to do much on track with a car that was more than capable IMO. :)

Contrast Hamilton's immediate reaction with that of Button's at the last grand prix, or indeed Schumacher's. Clearly Hamilton was not fuming, but his words over the radio were not those of a diplomat or natural team player. I like the guy's driving, but this year it does seem a little lacklustre. Still, 4 different winners and all of the top guys in the mix.

You mean "what happened lads," wasn't diplomatic?

Jeff, a bit late (11hours), MW himself said that the left rear wheel gun man was replaced after the first pit stop.
Taz, I gave solid facts/prove on here to show that nobody of the pit crew was to blame but some of Lulu's fanatical supporters still blame the pit crew.
Richard, the first pit problem was the wheel nut and wheel gun socket serrations (MW calls them slots) not aligning, this was even confirmed by MW himself.

Obvious technical issue, crew not to blame.
They already had indications with JB's stop in China, that was the time for the "investigation". F1 is not the place for maybe's, stuff should work 100% of the time, or be redesigned.

107,

I went to sleep immediately after the checkered flag, so I didn't see any of the post race stuff first hand.

The articles i've seen all read something like the above.

Its not the wheelman's fault. It's not the wheelgun's fault. Its not the designer's fault. Its not Hamilton's fault. It was a simple mechanical failure. There is less than a second to get it right. It was a simple mistake. But there is no excuse for Hamilton shaking his little head or demanding an "investigation." He has made plenty of mistakes himself.
