Kimi Raikkonen insists that Lotus has been a podium threat from the beginning of the season, despite not achieving the aim until Bahrain.

The issue for Lotus right now is that they aren't consistently at the pointy end of the time sheets over the entire race weekend like the top flight teams.
Fair enough they are fast come race day but Friday and Saturday lingering around 10th makes it harder for things to go their way I would pressume.

Either way- I enjoy watching Kimi come through the pack to achieve the results he has so far!

They had such good race pace because they were running in tenth on fri, they set the car up with a good fuel load, were as other teams set their cars up with lower fuel levels, just keep focusing on race set up lotus an I think we'll keep seeing u (kimi) on the podium

I agree, yes, the focus on race setup is what's keeping them competative, but they are creating a lot more work for themselves by not being so competative in qualifying.
Certainly it paid off for them not chewing up tyres in Bahrain but starting from the middle of the pack creates a fair deal of risk.
