@Qwertie
VJ got bored and went home.

I disagree with Ol' Bob.
IMHO, Force India has underperformed badly this season so far. Of course, Lotus' and Merc's success have had a lot to do with that, but still, FI were challenging Merc last year and looking good doing it, this year, it's all fallen quite flat. It's like they lost their Mojo.

droog. i posted yesterday about vj. he is fully occupied with trying to stay afloat. his airline has gone bust and it is said that he is having to sell a sizable portion of his drinks company to try and stay afloat. it is also said that the reason that fi did not take part in fp 2, was NOT because of the 'incident', but was due to the fact that fi were trying to save wear on their engines, to save money.

@richard: I am not very sure about the reason why they were out of fp2, but feel that fi is not worrying about money as vj is not the only owner now..with sahara pouring in lot of money!
@Droog: Defnitely they have under performed so far..we can't compare them to sauber and williams now leave about merc and lotus..even though they say a lot about the upgrades coming, fi is not the only team bringing them, everybody else also bringing..whatever would like to watch a touch battle between top teams as well as midfield teams..least bothered about the backmarkers!!

I also read the suggestion that lack of money was the reason for the no-show in FP2. Then I saw it came from the person who runs FOM, (who control the TV feed) who managed to miss the FI cars during qualifying, even when they were the only ones on track.

A very spiteful and bitter old man.

VJ is certainly having trouble with his airline, but his main income comes from his UB group, which include the drinks empire, and that is doing quite nicely.

"it is also said that the reason that fi did not take part in fp 2, was NOT because of the 'incident', but was due to the fact that fi were trying to save wear on their engines, to save money."

That doesn't stack up. Teams pay for their eight engines at the start of the season, so why would they try and save money by not using them now? In practice sessions generally engines which have already completed a full race distance are used, and not tuned to maximum performance, so as to limit wear.

And as another user highlighted, Sahara now own a big stake in FI and will be investing significant amounts of cash into the team. If HRT can afford run every session of the year I don't see how anyone could suggest FI can't.

lol that rumour about not participating in Bahrain FP2 is rubbish. Why would they go to Mugello??? yes VJM is struggling but nethertheless people just like rumours. They have got sahara sponsorship.

@Mark-I have spoken with Paul Stoddart and all i will say is this-Some people give to F1 whilst others just taketh away(and lavish riches and obscene oppulence on their unsavoury offspring).
Most F1 fans miss Minardi,but i doubt anyone shedding any tears if Bernie was to walk away from the sport wheeling his wheelbarrow full of cash.
