Think Maclaren may have shot themselves in the foot by not having their drivers at the test. All their main competitors are. Doesn't bring much confidence seeing Marussia & Caterham ahead of you on the time sheets gear box problem or not.

1st post, My thoughts exactly, should be givin JB, and LH more seat time, to
try and get to grips with the maclaren, not leaving it to the reserve
Oh well! what do I know anyway?

I think Mclaren made the right choice.
1) The track they're testing on bares no relevance to other tracks on the circuit.
2) They haven't brought any updates to the car, so they wouldn't learn anything new that they don't already know.
3) The test drivers are the ones back at base on the simulator all the time coming up with setup for Jenson and Lewis to work from. They need some time in the car so that they can make the simulator act the same way the car handles.

McLaren should be heading to Europe with a whole load more points than they have, and given the tyre heating issues they've had in 3/4 races I too am surprised that both the drivers and team think there is nothing to be learnt in this test. Confidence? Arrogance? Who knows...
