By the way, can I just say. I am a Mclaren fan first an a Kimi fan second, Lewis is ok but...............(I'll leave it there haha)

I can however manage to take a balanced view like a grown up when considering drivers/teams who are not my number 1 choice.
something I think a fair few on here cant seem to manage!!

Russell, you certainly have a taste for the biscuit, yes it is at least the 3rd offence of its kind, not talking about the dozens of other kinds of offences, there did exists a fuel sample lift by the FIA rule at the time in Canada, so the 10k fine at that time was regarded as a slap on the wrist as he was allowed to keep that pole, which I sure that that's what they were trying to achieve again this time, that's why they are regarded as repeat offenders.

107SS2009,
I am one of those who believe a 5 place penalty should be given when a car is short fueled.
But Hamilton did not put the fuel in the car or know what his team had done or spin a yarn to the stewards. So this driver punishment is totally ott. A team punishment should have been given.

"Lewis Hamilton trotted out one of his most well-worn cliches"
This could almost have been written by the haters themselves. So much for journalism offering a balanced view. Crash, it is clear you dont like hamilton. You are the lowest of the low in your bully boy tactics against a certain driver in f1 to get your website hit count up...
Reading these posts and the comments from the usual suspects, it is evident that many posters are no better than your common playground bullies. And no i am not a "lulu fanboy" just sick and tired of consistent derogatory remarks against posters that dare to express a view differing from the majority..

Jeees guys, calm down. If you take some time to find out exactly what happened its just a simple (and stupid) mistake. Take a look at BBC F1! Gary Anderson explains it very well.

its a joke fair enough a five place penalty but put to the back of the grid is harsh, still it will make for great entertanment to watch lewis overtaking as he is the most exciting driver to watch in f1

There had to be a penalty. It doesn't matter if it was a garage error or not, its a team sport and when someone in the car, the pits or even the drawing board makes a mistake the team pays. What bothers me is the risk of putting such a quick car at the back of a slow pack.

Penalty fair or not the one fact that is undisputed in this is that operationally Mclaren are turning into one of the most incompetent teams on the grid.
How many isolated/bad luck/chance incidents have to occur before we admit there's a problem?

Correct me if I'm wrong here but is Sam M not here to handle track operations and streamline and tighten up exactly these types of thing?

And coming from a confessed Mclaren fan I have to admit that we have never been the tightest in this area, strategy, pit stops wheel nuts etc. operational cock ups is something we do have form on.
