F1 » Senna's seat under threat at Williams

Bruno Senna is looking like the odd man out at Williams, after Pastor Maldonado's race win and Valtteri Bottas' impressive practice performances puts his position under threat.

It's clear on the TV re-play that Senna went to the right, then to the left,( not allowed this year when defending ) at close to 200mph Schumacher didn't have much time, a racing accident surely ?

what a surprise! not! he never showed any signs of being good. and only got into 1 by changing his name from lalli to senna. lets hope that frank gets a better driver for next year.

mad mitch. are you on the right thread?

The Williams is looking like a decent car now, bound to be able to find a driver that can make more use of it than Lalli.

If this Finnish sponsor is coming on board at Williams it may be a good bit of business for Bruno to change his name to Hakkinen, just a thought...

Never really rated him to be honest. I always thought it was an injustice for Karun Chandhok not to be racing after he outshone him at HRT.

The Senna name will come with plenty of money no doubt, as Maldonado came with money but he's proving himself ( not only this past weekend but last year when he outperformed Rubens consistently )

How can anyone say that Bruno is out of his depth? Yes, Pastor has been beating him easily on qualifying and this is where Bruno needs to improve as it is dettroying his race chances. His race pace is fine and had he started further up front in Barcelona then he would have scored points for sure.

Bruno is a past GP2 winner at Barcelona, dont forget!

How Bottas got all the first Friday sessions before the season started is not fair on Bruno as this is putting his race weekend preparations behind. Why doesnt Pastor sufffer the same fate in losing Friday morning sessions? This CANT be helping Bruno at all and I am sure the management will be making Williams aware!

Regardless of Senna's performance, I'd just like to say that Valterri Bottas is overhyped. I saw him back in F3 as teammate to Jules Biachi and Biachi wiped the floor with him kinda like Lewis did with Sutil. Bottas picked up some wins (for instance at the Marlboro Masters in Zandvoort) when Biachi made one of his erratic mistakes but in general Bootas couldn't keep up with him. Not saying the guy is complete rubbish but I predict that if he does make it to a race seat he'll be decidedly average on approximately the same level as Sutil. I'd like to see Bottas try to prove himself in GP2 first and in the meanwhile put some other driver in Senna's car if he doesn't improve his performances (and let's be honest if Senna gets a top 6 in Monaco which is entirely possible all of a sudden this talk will disappear again for the foreseeable future).
