This guy has some talent, I wouldn't write him off too quickly.

Was only 5 laps away from a fantastic 6th place at Monaco before being ambushed by you know who, in only his 6th F1 race.

Qualified in front of "Mr Experience" Barrichello on 9 occasions last year.

I believe he was the only driver with a cosworth engine to make it into Q3 last season, and he did it on 3 occasions.

Was a lap away from finishing 6th in Australia this year, before deciding to check the integrity of his chassis....

And nobody can fault his drive in Spain.

He has shown some flashes of brilliance, but is incredibly inconsistent. I have no doubt if he can improve that then he's got a bright future. Sadly for Williams it looks like they could have mounted a serious driver's title challenge with a more experienced driver in one of their cars. Let's just hope the money they're getting from Senna will set them up well for the future rather than cost them in terms of championship prize money.

He may not win another race in his career, but he earned the Spanish victory by putting together an excellent weekend, also beating Alonso when the Spaniard had a sniff of victory infront of his home crowd isnt an easy thing to do. A lot of credit has to go to the Williams race team who put him in a position to race at the front

His a good contender, but to say if he is championship material is a pretty bold move, considering the level of taken we got now. Sure he got a win, but that's because Hamilton got demoted, but then Maldenado drove a brilliant race and won, so that says something. If Williams improve, then its likely him or Senna will perform. If the other mid field teams start catching up in performance and tire management, then its likely that they'll get overshadowed, but the future for Maldenado is pretty bright, since he has one win and the others don't, so his got a lot of open doors.

It's hard to tell how fast the Williams car is because Senna and Maldonado bought their way in. If the car wasn't way faster than everything else that weekend then this is probably his first good performance of his F1 career.

@Taipan That still means Barichello outqualified him on more ocassions and Button made Rubens look like crap when it came to qualifying at Brawn and Hamilton makes Button look like crap in qualifying so it's not that impressive.

....sorry guys. Im seeing comments about good performances and bad decisions for others but are we not forgetting how "tyre dependant" the races have become? Every other forum is now complaining about how the tyres have annulled "real racing"!! Its all so random suddenly and with team principles and drivers all "scratching their heads" and nobody really knowing which car is fastest, all they can come up with is "its good for the show"!!!!!! whaaaaaat? If I wanna see a "show", then I book tickets and suffer 3 hours of Glee. The Musical to make my missus happy!! And to make sure I get some sugar! We want RACING!!!! Not a "show"!!!!
