Probably not even Robert himself will know whether he will ever be fit enough again to race in F1. But you have to say, the longer it goes on, the less likely his chances of getting back to fitness.

I would however hope that, should Robert get back into shape well enough to test for example a GP2 car successfully, that some F1 teams will still offer him some test time. There are enough 2-3 year old cars knocking around that he should be able to get some track time and see where he is at.

You never know, if a team offers him a chance to test out of courtesy, if his times are competitive then maybe, just maybe, he could one day be back on the grid.

I fear it is not likely though.

"it makes a mockery of all those who claimed that he was back driving" - can you expend further on how it makes a mockery? I still say he had been driving on several occasions (at the time I was posting) in a kart, and later rally testing. This is just another step to get him back closer to F1. IF anything, this shows that you should do more research before speaking in a public forum.

nifty. you know full well that there were a number claiming that he was driving rally cars, karts etc last sept oct, and saying that he was going f1 testing in nov, with renault-lotus keeping the door open for him. then it transpired that he still had an external brace on his arm and had no control of his hand! pictures released in feb or march, of him at a kart track, showed that he had his hand taped to the steering wheel of an ELECTRIC kart. then he sacked his doctor. in all this time, there was NO comment from kubica, nor did he attend ANY f1 event. i got a lot of stick for saying that he was nowhere near capable of driving, but it transpires that i was right. the latest op was to try and give him some ability to use the palm of his hand, so he is still far away from a full recovery.
so all those who professed to be "in the know" , were not actually "in the know". got it yet?

"pictures released in feb or march, of him at a kart track, showed that he had his hand taped to the steering wheel of an ELECTRIC kart" Richey - I also remember you quotting your wife that he'll never drive again. Two things: the first, can you produce a link to one of those pictures with his taped hand. The second one, I know that in one of those kart test he was very competitve, so competitive that he broke the track record. He was also fast in a rally car. Those are the facts. You can't deny them.

@fiddy - there has been a great deal of secrecy regarding his condition. If he was serious about returning to F1 and if he was actually driving a kart I would have expected him to at least visit a GP. By continueing to stay away from the public's attention it just raises doubts about his true condition. Remember his manager said he was ready to compete this season. It is hard to believe the spin coming out of his camp.
