F1 » No bright side to Canada for Button

Try as he might, Jenson Button couldn't find an upside to his dismal Canadian GP weekend which saw him slide backwards during the race to a disappointing 16th place finish.

Button's comments and driving are starting to hark back to his days at Honda. Maybe those cars weren't as bad as Button, Barrichello et al were making them to look??

Jenson seems to be waiting for the perfect car, this wont happen in 2012. He has to learn to adapt like Hammi does and be competitive even when the car is not how you would like it to be. This is the difference between top drivers and great divers like Alonso.

Sam Micheal attributed this to be why Jenson struggles compared to Hammi and the thing is after Mclaren reverted back to the normal rear suspension which was the same as Lewis's, Mclaren's maneging director Jonathan Neale said both cars were exactly the same and that he could not understand why Jenson was struggling but that the team would do all they could to help JB.

What a patriotic bunch we are!
And before the fanboys say touche, I have never criticized Lulus natural ability.
Jenson IS a great driver and there must be something fundamental wrong with the car to be that far back. Whether its the nose, chassis or the tyres Maclaren should have the staff that can sort the problem out with Jenson and if they can't why are the employed by the team.
What I will say is Jenson was man to own to the problem and come out and say so.

@Jayne I'm not British so I can't be counted as "patriotic." If the car is not working for Jenson as it is currently working for Lewis, then it can't be a design problem since both cars are fundamentally the same. Perhaps Jense should work on his set ups and see if that is the problem.

@Jayne Both cars are fundamentally designed the same. Jense may have problems with setting up his car. Drivers normally set up their race cars to suit their driving styles and you know full well that each driver have their own set of engineers assigned to help them at races. Also I understand that both Lewis and Jenson are pretty free in giving each other technical data so whatever is working for Lewis doesn't mean it will work for Jenson.

@Barbara Why would McLaren do something to Jenson's car the past couple of races to help Lewis? That won't give them points for the Constructors Title which they want more than the Drivers Title. They need max points for that from both drivers.
