F1 » No bright side to Canada for Button

Try as he might, Jenson Button couldn't find an upside to his dismal Canadian GP weekend which saw him slide backwards during the race to a disappointing 16th place finish.

below is an analysis from the official F1 website stating that only Jensen is using the new nose, Lewis reverted to the old one from bahrain onwards:

"McLaren's Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button have been using different front wings in Bahrain. Button has opted to run the new one, introduced in Shanghai, which features different upper flaps and no gills in the middle of the endplate (see inset). Hamilton, meanwhile, has chosen to use the old one (see main image) for a different level of aero balance. The duo also selected different brake materials and ducts. Button is using Brembo discs and open drum ducts, whilst Hamilton is using discs from Carbon Industries and full drums with just a few openings."

now if Jensen had this year's car designed for him in particular, oh well!

I'm not a LH fan but I have to congratulate him on a superb drive in Canada. As an ardent fan of JB's I feel as depressed about the present state of affairs as he does. I am convinced there are moves afoot within McLaren to ensure that whatever the final outcome of the season is, LH is guaranteed to beat JB. As runner-up last year, Jenson was the only driver to get even close to the almost unbeatable SV. 2011 was the season for LH to feel what it's like to be outclassed by a team mate. McLaren want to keep LH in the fold for 2013 and I believe JB's season is being scuppered until it's impossible to make a comeback. JB is a class driver who with equal machinery just cannot be 1.5 to 2 seconds a lap slower than LH or any other driver. I've said it before and I say again, is RD pulling strings to ensure his prodegy comes out on top? One does wonder.
