It's badly designed, that's why this 'fudge' has been put forward.

The grandstands are too far from the track as well, the whole redesign by Populous is awful.

HA, surely you guys realise that the race going F1 fan isn't anywhere near Bernie's biggest priority..'Silverstone needs a makeover,it looks tired..it has to look good on tv'..did he not say that a few years ago when everyone attending the race was knee deep in mud ?? Why else go to the trouble of such a vast 'visual' pits and pit enclosure when something half the price could've had as much impact for the race goer...look at the new road, decades late it sort of works but it isn't anywhere near what it could and should've been..they spent all their money on 'tv visuals' and the all important corporate hospitality !!

A few days ago I was watching a replay of the 2004 British GP. Still can't believe they bulldozed the Bridge sector. I can't stand Silverstone since the update, yuck.
