F1 » Brawn: Schumacher can win - if we fulfil potential

Mercedes team boss Ross Brawn remains confident that his drivers can be factors in the 2012 F1 season, despite a run of frustrating results.

They need to turn Schumachers 'potentia' into points for the sake of the constructors standings, Mercedes won't care which driver finishes ahead until around the halfway point in the season, by which time they may have to make some decisions in the interest of the team. I think Schumacher is man enough to deal with whatever comes his way.

What Mercedes need is that 'quantum leap' like they had in early 2009 as Brawn. disagreeing with BLZBUB, MS doesn't look to me like he is man enough to make a silk purse out of a (relatively speaking!) sow's ear, so Brawn and his bods need to create a silk purse for him. With the state of the standings, the quantum leap thing applies to all the top 5 teams of course.

Podium finishes are still my expectation. But realistically I hope the car makes it to the finish. Schumacher has to be a little unsure of what will happen to that car when he lines up for a start now. That can't be a good feeling.

Schumi can win but only a race don't think merc is interested in drivers championship just constructors. I think Schumi and Brawn are both being led up the garden path by numb nuts Norbert Haug and merc!!

Highly unlikely that MS will win anything again, Ross Brawn is talking up MS because he wanted him in the team. The reality is that MS can't match Rosberg for pace on a regular basis and MS makes a lot of errors which are more obvious because he is not in the fastest car. Best bet is that he will poosibly get a third place at some stage when all the others screw up due to tyre problems.

Lets wait and see. Dale Jr. won a race last week after going dry for 4 years. Maybe F1 will follow their lead and get MS a win. It would be a shot in the arm for F1 if MS can win.

As much as I want MS to do well, I don't think that Merc will do it. They've bet the farm on a thing that only really helps them in qualifying, thereafter being a small help in the DRS zone(s). I'm not sure that their car is faster than the others without it, so I'm not holding my breath.
