in reality, macca have lulu over a barrel. with ferrari and rbr both saying that they do not want him, he really has no alternative but to accept whatever macca offer him. the only door that COULD be open, is a seat at merc, but i doubt that they would offer anywhere near as much as macca .

rob. on another thread, you say that ferdi would be quite happy with lulu! so which is it? and i have never heard seb making ANY comment either for or against having lulu as a teammate. but both team principals have said "no way". now as for caterham...oops, they also said they didnt want him.

so it would possibly be merc, or maybe even fi, due to merc connection. now, ther is a thought...fi. put him in one of their cars and we might see if lulu can get a result.

Love Lewis's mindset this year. There shouldn't be an issue with a new deal, though as a fan of his I wish he looked at other options. I'd love for him to go to Mercedes but that's obviously contingent on Shumacher retiring.

Ferdi said he could exist with Lewis. And Seb is protected by Marko so he need not reply. Be real richard with yourself. Red Bull will never upset Vettel with a powerful team mate. They know he is fragile. As for results..did you see the last race.

rob. did you see your first post? "their (ferrari and rbr) number ones do not want to compete with him".

and now you say "ferdi said he could exist with lulu".

i ask again, which is it?

and yes, i did watch canada, and everybody knows what happened there. pirelli gae te wrong info to two teams and lulu came in for a tyre stop as macca knew that his tyre wear was excessive. this enabled him to get ahead of ferdi and seb, but he was not as strong in the race as perez and grosjean.

on bbc sport there is a comparison of lap times, and they show that IF alonso and seb had pitted at the same time, they would have finished AHEAD of lulu. but i know its only an IF

I have been trying to research but without success if there ever was a top driver in his prime in FI which, (1) when his contract came up for renewal his team wanted to pay him only fifty percent of what he was being paid (2) at least two separate top teams principals declare that he was not wanted to drive for their team.
This is most probably a Lulu record in F1.

@sunny, did you also research the last time all major economies where trying to recover from a global economic recession?

i would be very surprised if in the future, with no change in the economic situation, any of the top earning sportsmen will be able to command a contract equal to the one they are currently on.

btw where did you see the draft contract to KNOW he is only being offered 50%?

I don't want to hear all the what if's. You could do that with any race this year. It means nothing. The results are what stand. Not some made up stories and multiple possibilities. None of them finished ahead of Mr. Hamilton. And for sure the pole sitter finished OFF the podium. Now those are facts.

Some speaking out their backside. The contract may be for less but the ability to market ones brand may be adopted. And make up or exceed current contract dollars. And for those who continue to read things they want to hear, you have to realize that F1 itself is reducing cost at a record pace. F1 is a former shell of itself. Even if he takes a pay cut he will only make less than one driver on the grid. And at the moment Vettel doesn't consider Ferrari to be Vettel material. ouch
